If she didn't tell you that it wasn't AKC registration then there really isn't anything you can do. A lot of puppies are advertised as "registered" but aren't always AKC - there are so many unreputable registries out there. AKC and UKC are really the only reputable registries in the US. You can still breed your dog, but your puppy and its offspring will never be able to be registered with AKC. One good thing about being registered with AKC or UKC is that you can show your dog in comformation to make sure your dog is of quality to breed. Also, a lot of people will only buy AKC registered puppies.
