| I'm going to try training mine to go indoors when I get him/her. I already have three cats, so it would be nice if the dog could kind of be litter trained too. ![]() Of course I'd also take it outside, but it is going to be very cold here when I first get the pup. I'm not sure it would be good for me to take it outside then, being so little.

| We shovel the yard. Just like a 10x10 spot. I think we only got about 4 real snow falls last year. Snow is no big deal. They think it's fun, plus Loki cheats and pees on the sidewalk since everything is covered in snow, it's all fair game. He is too smart.

I don't have that problem here in South Carolina though. We're lucky to get one or two inches of snow - and that usually lasts for one day before it all melts. But yeahhh... it gets really cold. Maybe a doggy sweater would do the trick. I'd worry about the little doggy toes though.

| But I always have trouble with snow snarling in their coats. Do you just brush them everytime they come in? Or do different types of coats take the snow differently?

| OMG.. She will not poo on the paper. or pad. She wets on the pad and even wets outside when I take her but will only poo on the ketchen floor. near the paper sometimes but only pood on the pad once. I made a big deal & gave her a treat but she hasn't pooed on it since. She will pee on the paper to get a treat and go back and squeeze out another drop and want another treat. I'm last .. |

| Donating YT 30K Club Member | It took much longer for Cali to get the hang of pooping on the pad, not near it. Most days she hits the pad but Pixie likes to poop under the dining room table, (we don't eat in there) about 2 feet from the pee pad I have in there. Sunday she cried and ran to the back door and I let her rout and she peed, everyday now she has been going to the back door to be let out to pee so I am hoping she is training herself to go outside like my Pom. Don't despair they do get better with it. Pixie is 1 1/2 and I have had her 7 months and finally seeing some good progress.

| I trained Jake on potty pads since he was so little and it was Fall when I got him. I didn't want him to have to go outside in the colder weather. It has worked out very well for him, and he will also go outside without a problem. Pads are also great for rainy days or if you have to leave them for extended periods.

| I tried pee pad training Kingston, but he just did not get it! So now I am housebreaking, and it is working better. He has only had 2 accidents all week compared to 75% accidents with the pee pads. He will not pee in his x-pen. He will whine if he needs to go. He can hold it for longer periods of time as well. |

| Max has been pooping on/near the pad more and more! He's 16 months old. He obviously wasn't in a rush to poop on the pad. I'm glad because little Gracie Leigh is coming soon and Max has to set an example for his little sister.

| Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I did the outside thing. I don't like the going inside. I clean up the waste outside but I rahter it be out there than inside. I paper trained in the very beginning until they were old enough to have all their shots and go outside and then it was totally outside
