| What the....???? I have posted about my MIL before - about how she is always going on about how huge Susanah is going to be and how she isn't a REAL yorkie yadda yadda etc. So she has talked about how her friend Dolores has a little male yorkie (who I've met and seen and is the cutest little thing ever - the yorkie, not Dolores). Ya'll can see where this is going, right? So it isn't that *I* should breed Susanah. (I will NEVER breed her and plan on having her spade). This is what she has the nerve to tell DH and I. She seems to think that we should let HER USE Susanah to breed with this little boy. Susanah can stay at her house and I won't have to deal with it all. When DH told her no way she tells him I am stupid for not breeding her because those puppies sell for a lot of money. *sigh* I am just shocked that she would even THINK that much less have the guts to actually bring it up to us. I am in no way defending her, but she does love animals, just was raised that they are just that. Animals. As much as she loves her own dog, he is just that. A dog. She thinks I am insane for treating Susanah like a baby. So as crazy as I think she is, she thinks I'm equally as crazy. Its one of those cases where its a collision of two entirely different worlds. My DH is far more normal than he has any right to be. It just blows my mind that she would suggest I just hand her my baby to breed because she wants the money. WTH? It is so insane that I can't even be mad. Its just outrageously funny.

| Kudos to you- I'm so glad you said no. Regardless of whether or not your girl is going to be larger than the standard or not, to breed for the $$ is NEVER a good reason. |

| Did your husband ask her why her friend would want to breed a dog who isn't a "real" yorkie? Crazy how people can change their opinions! I agree, it is funny if you think about it that way. I'm glad you aren't upset about it.

| I don't think she is going to be larger than standard. I think she's going to hit maybe 6 pounds tops. I am just stunned that she would think I would just loan my baby out so she could make a few bucks.

| Even if I WANTED to breed her (which I do NOT), I couldn't. Well, I could, but I wouldn't be able to register the babies with AKC. Susanah's registration is limited and she is not to be used for breeding.

| I'm sorry but after ALL these stories of your MIL, I DON'T like her! She seems to be a non stop growing pain in your a$$! ...I wish she'd just shut up and keep her nasty thoughts about you and/or your furbaby to herself..like what most normal ppl do! Have you talked to her about this and how you don't appreciate it..how it hurts/bothers you? She seems like she's jealous of your furbaby because if your baby WAS "too big", "not a purebred", why would she try to convince you to "breed" her? What a hypocrite! **I'm sorry if I'm sounding a bit mean, I am sick of ppl saying mean things about our furbabies - esp when they KNOW how much we love them!**

| Cart before the Horse? I think it's amazing and very selfish how everyone thinks it's so easy to "Breed" Yorkies or any Breed for that matter! You should decide to Breed before you buy a "Pet Quality" Pet? It seems like everyone on this site is concerned with "Size" and nothing else? Like genetics/hereditary traits, Champion Bloodlines, large floppy bat ears, long noses & long backs, crooked teeth, coat quality and coloration. The AKC. has a Standard and that does not only apply to their weight. Health is more important than making a Buck! I would be pretty mad myself. But there is a reason why Breeder's give a "Limited" AKC. Registration.....to leave "Breeding" to the Professionals! Who cares how much money you can make, anyone who Breed's their Dog should do it to improve the Breed? Take a look at what's out there? A Yorkie should look and act like a Yorkie, that's why it's called responsible "Breeding". It doesn't just happen by coincidence or accident? The price of a Yorkie corresponds with the Quality, not just the size? Ask me how many Yorkie owners I run into @ Petsmart that want to "Breed" them! |

| Not only is my MIL rude, like that, she actually calls Vinnie "Kitty" has from day one, she loves Vinnie, but she ONLY likes cats, so she calls him "Kitty" , I think she sniffed too much glue or something as a child, she makes him kitty fleece blankets. It's all I can do to keep my mouth shut when she calls my dog that!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Well, at least she didn't suggest breeding with Peppy, the Godzilla of chihuahuas. I have ceased now to be shocked by any acts of ignorance. I always heard that the difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has limits. Now I believe it. |
