Cali has a cottony easily matted thick coat, she's the one with the bow in my avatar and Pixie has a very silky straight thin coat that is a dream to care for. Both are over 1 1/2 years old and still black.

I still can't tell the difference, but I think my two are silky.

Here is a picture of Tino when he was a baby...my cottony-furred boy. His hair has always been super thick and fluffy...like cotton balls.
Makes it nice if we have to cut out snarls or knots...just fluff the hair back up and looks like we didn't have to cut anything!
