Diggy ate chocolate

Oh gosh! What a scare it must've been. I'm the same way (I think we ALL are), I am over protective and obsessive when it comes to protecting her from all things dangerous..but truth is, we could never be too careful, esp if you have kids (skin) too!

Never ending, I feel like I don't get a break ever either! I'm glad Diggy's alright.

It sounds like he will be fine. I know the feeling with the 3 dogs I can't catch a break. Just this month alone I have been to the ER vet 3 times and now after Pixie was rushed there 2 nights ago for possible injestion of a silica pak Cali started in with diahrrea last night. So I started he on Pixie's meds. I know I always go crazy when one is sick and rush to the vet as I couldn't live with myself is I didn't and something happened. I guess what doesn't kill us makes us stronger, but I think I am strong enough for awhile!!!! Take a deep breath but don't close your eyes or else!

It was part milk chocolate part peanut butter choclate and part white chocolate the form is a baseball (the white) a bat (peanut butter) and football (milk) SO I race home (I was about 4-5 miles away) and called the vet right away....they said give him a half teaspoon of Hydrogen peroxide and if he doesnt vomit in 5 minutes another 1/2 teaspn. Well I gave him the peroxide and took him outside and he puked within 2 minutes.....4 times 1st was all chocolate I could literally she the white and brown it was still seperated. then it was all watery light brown then finally the last time he puked clear....so does that mean he got it all out???

I am seriously exhausted....Im not over the reaction to revolution yet and now this???
Is he okay?

O my I am so sorry poor little guy. But u were on top of it by calling the vet. I would bet that he will be just fine. Jeez the things they can get into

yep and when it rains it pours it seems. Realy bad thunderstorms last night and of course I stared at Diggy all night and the storms kept me up also. SO again another day of Zombie mode at work......

I'm glad he's fine and that all was just a scare! that little Diggy is really something huh? Well, those suckers sounded really good, though, they were an understandable temptation

If it was milk chocolate, you don't have much to worry about at all. Chocolate is more dangerous when it has a higher concentration of cocao-- most of the chocolates people eat as treats have a low concentration of the stuff. The really dangerous chocolates are ones like extra dark baker's chocolate.

I work at an animal hospital, and we've seen dogs who've eaten whole boxes of milk chocolates with no ill effects (except that the owners wanted to bap them for stealing their goodies!)

Ozzie will sneak things occasionally (most recently half of a miniature York peppermint pattie off the coffee table) and it doesn't hurt him. The best story is my childhood dog who hated the mailman and we had a mail slot in the door. My namesake sent my mom a box of chocolate covered cherries -- each in its own foil wrapping -- and Shaggy ate every one of them -- FOIL AND ALL -- including the BOX and plastic tray!!!

Vet was more concerned about the trays and foil than the chocolate. He was OK though. Made for some interesting poop for a day or two though ...
