| I am so happy for you getting your new baby. It sounds like he wasn't cared for very well, but that will all change now. Sawyer used to hate being picked up also. He would stiffen up, and even back away sometimes when we would reach for him. My trainer told us to to imagine a 7 story tall building bending over to pick you up, you would stiffen up too. sawyer is the most loving little critter on the planet now, but he still would rather jump up into your arms than to have you pick him up. You are in for a lot of adjustments, these darling little dogs have a lot of quirks; but they are a gift from God. I can't imagine my life without this bundle of energy, personality and love.
