I was looking for a purebred but ended up falling for Bella first :p She's yorkie/pomeranian. I haven't had any comments on her other than 'she's so cute!' ;) |
Your puppy is it's own-self and they are all unique and lovable whatever breed they are ! I have 3 Yorkies and a Bearded Collie at the moment, and all are pure-bred. Our last Bearded Collie was a cross, and she was my soul-mate for 12 years. You couldn't have gotten a kinder more thoughtful dog. I don't like to compare - but as you asked, our current Beardie Tasha is too highly pedigreed, and this spoils her nature in comparison to my last Beardie cross Trixie. Tasha is a very nervous dog and has a side to her. Trixie was/is an angel....literally. My pure-bred Yorkies are all good and Tara has to be the one who really steals my heart in the same way my Beardie cross did. As I said, they are all special in different ways, and cross or not, they are unique and special beings :D :animal-pa Debra x x x x :aimeeyorkTARA :aimeeyorkCASPER :aimeeyorkTAMMY :animal36TASHA |
I love all dogs no matter what, My sister has a mixed, maltese/ yorkie and he is a doll, she did pay way to much for him without knowing he was mixed, but we love him so much we look past that, she finally just got her full blooded yorkie last week, and she is thrilled but does not love him anymore then the next, why cant people just be nice:confused: |
It doesn't bother me at all. I think lots of the mixed-breed yorkies are really cute, have good temperments, and might possibly have some good traits our purebreds don't have-like being more easily potty trained, for example! I admit, I have asked a couple people if their dogs were purebred/if they were yorkies before-but not because I was turning my nose up at all. Yorkies come in so many sizes, colors, and "looks" that sometimes it's hard to tell, and I'm truly interested in what breed their dogs are. We had a neighbor that had a silky-but looked very much yorkie, only bigger. I also ran into a lady at Petco that had a dog that looked like a yorkie, only it was really curly-but it was purebred. She too thought it was a yorkie-poo when she got him, but found out that he was indeed purebred. I had never heard of a chocolate yorkie or a biewer until I got on here-and I definitely would have asked those owners about their dogs' breeds too :) But, I think it's all in how you present it and ask the question. |
Why do peoples always referred a purebred dog as full blood ? I've never seen an empty blood one . |
I have a full yorkie and an shih-poo. People think they are both yorkies even though my shih-poo looks nothing like a yorkie!!! I don't think it's anyones beez wax if your baby isn't 100 percent yorkie. It's your baby, that's all that matters!!! |

It doesn't make a difference to me either. And I think some people get carried away their rude mouths! I just don't get people. sorry for ranting, but had a bad day and didn't mean to get off the subject!;) I love all dogs. Your baby is a real cutie too! Can't wait to see more pictures! |
I don't like the breeders breeding so called designer dogs... Too many dogs in the pound now... Many just do it to make money as they don't have to think when they do it and there is no thought process when they do, only $$$$$$$ signs.. How many pups can you get out of a Doxy and a Yorky cross... for example.. Once the dogs are born, who can't but love them. This is what these so called breeder count on. The pups don't know the nut cake that decided they were to be born.. They should be treated just as well as any other dog.. My self I'd save for a yr to buy a pure bred if I had to.. When you buy a dog like this it just permotes the breeding of more of them.. No one has the right to snub your dog... But not the case for the breeder:( |
Let me clarify my last post. I don't think it's wrong to ask someone what breed a dog is, however it is wrong to get an attitude when they find out your dog isn't purebred. We have had our lab/chow for 5 years and thankfully I've never came across that. Your baby and baby's mother is adorable by the way.:p |
I guess some people are very elitist and anthing less than perfect isn't good enough. Personally, I don't give a damn about pure-bred vs mixed. In my case, I needed a purebreed as I'm highly allergic to all other dogs I've encountered. Miraculously, I have no issues with yorkies. But I was afraid that a yorkie mix might still make me sick so I had no choice. But if it wasn't for allergies, I probably would have brought home one of the many yorkie mixes from a rescue. |
Well, unless you told your neighbor that she was a purebred yorkie then what she did was entirely rude. Some people are just snotty like that. I know that I've had friends that have considered spending $1,000+ for yorkies that looked like they were mixed with something and I told them exactly what I thought about the dog they wanted to buy....BUT, that is for a friend and only when my opinion was asked. I also had a friend that repeatedly pointed out that my MIL's chihuahua wasn't a pure chihuahua. Um, hello...she only paid $100 for her and she KNEW she wasn't a purebred. Some just like to throw it in your face...as if to make themselves feel superior. You love your furbaby and that's all that matters. It wasn't like you spent thousands on her...she was a precious gift from your uncle. Dismiss your neighbor and her ignorance. She's the one missing out on getting to know such a sweet pup! |
Your puppy is quite a cutey. Your neighbor on the other is crude and rude. Better spend your time with the puppy!!! |
NO, it does NOT bother me when it's not a purebred yorkshire terrier. It DOES, however, bother me when I see pet stores that clearly sell yorkie mixes, but claim them as pure bred yorkies (but that's a whole other can of worms). I think Pocky is ADORABLE! I'm sorry you had the unfortunate experience of having to listen to some imbeciles verbal diarrhia. |
Mixed breed dogs don't bother me...I love them! And yours is sure a cutie! :D But I don't like people breeding mixed breed dogs, and I don't like people buying them for ridiculous sums of money. |
