BANNED! | I will be glad to help you I sent you a Pm. Here's what I did with my girl. Peanut had this happen recently and I gave her a nice luke warm bath letting her soak in it for 15 minutes. After she was dried and relaxed I expressed some out of her swollen teat. Then put her in the whelping box and had the puppies nurse on that teat one at a time so they could help express the back-up of milk. In 1 hour I checked her teat again and placed a warm washcloth on it for about 10 minutes, then expressed some more milk again manually. Put her back in the whelping box and let the puppies nurse again. By morning it was totally back to normal and she hasn't had a problem since. I wish you the best and hope this helps you as much as it helped us out. Last edited by tiggerr36792; 07-21-2007 at 10:23 PM. |

BANNED! | If she had a c-section then no!!! She cannot get bathed at all. You can use a warm washcloth on the teat making sure to not get the stitches wet. You need to express the milk yourself and let the puppies nurse on it. How long has it been swollen like that, you dont want to let it go for too long or it can get an infection there. I sent you another pm hun. |
