Maggie may have a broken leg
 
I have no idea what happened exactly, but my daughter was outside with Maggie and my husband, and all we know is maggie started screaming!!! we wonder if my dd dropped her!!! She cannot use her front "drivers side" leg at all. it is not in her shoulder, it is in the lower part of her foot, from what i can tell. She will let me touch and feel all of her leg except that part. I called the emergency vet and they told me to watch her for about an hour and see if she will use the leg at all.

so far, she will not use it. she has it raised and it is just kinda hanging :( she tried to walk and she just rolled forward. I am so heartbroken. I was so happy that she is almost 10 months old and no accidents...and here we are on a saturday, after hours, and she gets hurt. I am so incredibly sad right now.

If she is not using the leg in the next 30 minutes, we are heading to the vet...I will keep you posted...

Please say some prayers for my sweet baby. my heart is broken for her right now. My daughter feels just HORRIBLE. she has been crying about it. she feels so bad. I'm sure she dropped her, but she isn't wanting to talk right now. she is just crying.

Poor Maggie! She's definitely in our prayers. I hope it isn't broken.

Give your dd a hug from Susanah and me. Sometimes accidents happen.

Oh my gosh I am so sorry...and isn't that always the way it is..on a weekend. Your daughter must be scared to bits...poor baby. These little boogers can jump out of arms so fast. I know Murfee has done it when he was a puppy. Thank goodness he never got hurt. Keep us updated and I will say a prayer for all of you. Patty

Oh Mandy I hope it is just a bruse and all is ok poor MaggieI will pray really hard all is ok.

Poor girl - tell your daughter accidents happen and it will help Maggie if she tells you what went on

then if I were you - I'd take her in if she isn't walking on it at all - it doesn't sound too good if she fell over poor baby -

thank you guys so much. i am in tears over here. my heart is broken for her. I just talked to a great vet (who happens to be out of town :mad: ) and he said to giver her half a baby asprin to help with the pain...because i'm sure the car ride will be painful for her. I will be leaving here in a few minutes to go to the emergency vet (waiting for hubby to come back from the store).

thanks for the prayers. poor baby is panting and breathing so hard...she must be in so much pain.

my daughter is a little better. she says she did drop her. she feels so bad. i told her i know it was an accident...and these things happen.

yes, she finally said that she did drop her. i am trying to comfort my daughter too, she feels so bad.

i gave her 1/2 a baby asprin (magie) to try and help with some of the discomfort. we are leaving for the vet in a few minutes.

I feel bad for all of you. :( I hope Maggie is going to be ok. Everyone is right, accidents happen and that's just what this was. Feel better Maggie. :getwell:

I'm praying for Maggie, you, your daughter and dear hubby. Bubba & Roxie send their love to their dear friend Maggie :littleang .

I'm sorry it's an afterhours trip to the emergency vet - what they charge doesn't help. I'll pray to for the vet to have wisdom, that he/she will know just what to do.

We want her to get back to playful self soon :getwell:

I'll be watching for an update.

Hopefiully it's just a bruise or soemthing. Once mika fell off the bed when she was sleeping (she rolled off:rolleyes: ) and we were sure she broke her leg, but it was only sprained, which wasn't AS bad.

I hope it's not serious, poor Maggie! You know, even if it is a broken leg, at least that can be fixed. Thank goodness she did land on her head. Hang in there...I know you'll keep us updated:)

:hands: :hands: :hands: for Maggie and her whole family, especially your daughter. On Christmas day, Sadie jumped out of my arms and landed hard on the floor - a drop of at least four feet. I just held my breath and waited to see if she was okay. Fortunately, she was. Accidents happen and these little guys are so wiggly.

Keep us posted on what the vet has to say about little Maggie.

I'm praying little Maggie is okay. Your poor daughter probably feels horrible, bless her heart. Accidents do happen.

Awwww hope she is ok and its not broken...give your daughter a hug from me..I have a daughter who is 9 and would be devastated too if something like that happened...poor sweetie..

Hope Maggie just has a bruise and not a break, poor booboo. Hugs to your daughter. Sorry for your ER mission after hours.

we are at the vet now waiting on the x ray tech , the vet suspects a fracture in the " wrist" area. The baby asprin seems to have really help ease some pain. The vets here are super nice. Now im glad got the iPhone, I am able to get on YT while i wait and update everyone.thanks for all the prayers

You are so right. I said the same thing. Thankful it wasn't worse. She is being x rayed now, I'll update soon
