I am hoping and praying that your baby, Maggie will be alright. Accidents can not be prevented, that's why they are called accidents. Give your daughter a hug, we know it's hard on her too. Will be waiting for an update, and will be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh no! I feel so bad for both your daughter and Maggie! I pray Maggie is ok and that there are no breaks!

I am home, but maggie is not. her leg is broken. a clean break, thankfully, but it is definitely broken. they are putting a splint on it and on Monday I am taking her to our regular vet to see if there is anything else that needs to be done. thankfully, it was not in the joints, it is a clean break in both of those bones that would be like the forearm on a human. (not sure the doggie terms for what it is called)

they are giving her a gas to put her under, then putting the splint on it, then she will be sent home with some pain medicine.

it broke my heart when they were doing the x-ray. maggie SCREAMED...i was in tears when they brought her back to me. she was shaking and in so much pain. my poor baby. I am so sad for her.

oh, i had to leave her there for a couple of hours. so I decided to come and eat dinner then go back and get her. They told me 2 hours...so I will be leaving here in a few minutes...

Oh no!! I am so so sorry for you, your little Maggie, and your precious daughter who I am sure is feeling terrible right now!

We will be praying for you and Maggie and please give your daughter a big hug for me and explain (like I am sure you already have) that is was just an accident.

yes, exactly. I am glad it was a clean break.

my daughter is in better spirits, i think she definitely understands the importance of being extra careful. but she is feeling much better. I have reassured her over and over again that it was an accident and it could have happened to any of us.

I'm sorry the leg is broken, but I am relieved that it's not a joint and that it's a clean break. I am also very glad to see that you are taking a moment to eat something. :thumbup:

So sorry its broken..but thankfully its something that can be fixed...tell your daughter that my babies have jumped out of my arms too...Im just lucky they landed the right way...it CAN happen to ANY of us...give her big hugs!! Hope Maggie is more comfortable now...pretty soon she will be back to her normal self!!

So HAPPY you all know, and the baby will be ok !!!!!
Is she a smaller size Yorkie , and how old ?

My 4 lb boy jumps off the couch, footstool, and once out of my arms !!!
I think the scariest part is hearing them cry/scream.....
Praise God for fast healing !!!

So sorry to hear about Maggie's leg. Thankfully it was a clean break and it will heal. I will send prayers for her quick recovery.

I am glad to hear that your daughter is feeling better as well.

Oh Mandee this is so very sad :( Poor maggie. I am sure your daughter is so upset to. Give her and maggie a hug for me and your daughter know that accidents happen. I'm so sorry.

I will continue to pray for Maggie and your entire family. I pray you can all sleep soundly tonight, so you are well rested when you bring her home and needs your care. Praying the break heals quickly.

Make sure you ask about having the other dogs around Maggie. I wouldn't think it would be a problem, because dogs are so smart they usually can sense when humans or other animals are in pain.

I just read about poor little Maggie- my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Accidents do happen!! I have an 11 yr old - believe me I know!!
Her leg should heal just fine and she should be back to her old self in no time.
Please keep us posted and know we are all thinking of you!!!

Poor little Maggie and poor you and poor little daughter. i will keep all of you in my prayers. I hope the pain meds help Maggie and I know you will feel better when she is home and in your care and please give your little girl a special hug from me and Murfee sends kisses to all of you. I'm so sorry about Maggie's leg. Sending prayers and positive thoughts that it heals quickly. Please tell your daughter that we all send her a big hug because we know that accidents happen to all of us.:big_hug:

well, maggie is home...VERY groggy, and with a nice pink cast on her leg :) she is whimpering a lot so I don't know if she is in pain or not but she is definitely out of it. bless her little heart. she has to wear the cast for 4 weeks...I am taking her to my regular vet first thing monday morning. I have her x-rays with me and will take them to the vet with us.

thanks for all the prayers...you guys really are the best :)

maggie will not be leaving my side any time soon :)

she is fine. i think she really understands that it was an accident and that we are not upset with her. she seems worried about maggie but she is ok. Trinity is in bed and hasn't seen maggie since she got home, she was asleep. but before i left to get maggie, she was asking some questions and seemed to be worried about her.

Sorry to hear about the break. I'm sure your daughter feels just awful. I'm glad she told you the truth, though. ;) And Maggie probably jumped from her arms. It's happened to all of us! They can get very squirmy!

Aw, just found this thread. I'm sooo sorry for poor little Maggie and for you and your daughter. How sad. I'm sure you are way stressed right now. Up go some prayers for all of you and for an uneventful quick healing for little Maggie. Tink sends some licks!
