Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Tale of runaway Yorkie has a happy ending for family A mother from the South Beach section of Staten Island feared the worst when she learned Tuesday that Mylo, her children's Yorkshire Terrier, had escaped from a Tompkinsville kennel while her family was on vacation. But the family was spared further heartbreak today when the tiny pooch was safely returned to All Pets Animal Hospital after someone recognized the 4-year-old silver and beige teacup Yorkie on posters hung up in the neighborhood. "I can't even describe how relieved I am," said Gina Philbin, who left July 12 for a two-week vacation in Florida with her husband and kids, James, 15, Briana, 13 and Jeanne, 10; as well the children's grandparents, aunts and uncles. She did not tell her kids that the dog had gone missing before he was found. "I just broke down and cried. It saved my trip. It saved a lot of heartache we would have had when we came home." Something apparently spooked Mylo, who weighs in at just five pounds, as he was being brought in from the Van Duzer Street animal hospital's exercise area on Monday, Ms. Philbin said. The dog walker, who was carrying Mylo and another dog, was bit on hand and put Mylo down. The frightened Yorkie ran toward the fence and managed to escape through a small hole dug by another dog, she said. -- Contributed by Glenn Nyback http://blog.silive.com/advanceupdate...e_has_a_h.html |

| It's so nice to hear good news and a happy ending for once. Lately, there seems to be so many terrible stories on the news concerning animals. Whoever returned Mylo is a hero and a good person. |

| I wish all of the missing Yorkies stories would end up happy like this.

| So glad he was found quickly! It really surprises me to hear a 5lb yorkie called a "teacup"...when I hear "teacup" I think of at least less than 4lbs..more like 3 or less... I just wish the media would realize there is no such thing as a "teacup"

| I did not realise that I needed to worry about my babies getting away from the place where I am paying for them to be safe IF I go away on vacation. And that is why pet friendly hotels will become more popular! Or people do not go on vacations.
