| Runt? Is there such thing as a runt in a litter of puppies? If so, is it true that they are smaller in size even when they are full grown? Izzy is the "runt" of her litter and I have always had a hard time getting her to eat....is that why? |

| Yes the runt is the smallest of the litte. However the runt doesnt always stay small as an adult. My Jewels was the runt and only 12 oz when I got her but now she is 6 lbs

| The runt is always the smallest of the litter but doesn't always stay small, depending on health, of course. I've had some runts over the years who were healthy and grew to be big and strong like their siblings. Health is a major factor on how well they will do.

| My Teddy was the runt of the litter. I got him a 13 weeks old and he was 2lb 7 ounces at his new puppy check up the day after I brought him home. No one thought he would get to be more than 5 or 6 pounds tops. He is now 2 and 10 pounds 6 ounces; he is not fat at all just a solid boy. But Teddy is a mix - half maltese half yorkie so I'm not sure if that would make a huge difference |

| Rosie, my yorkiechon, is the runt of her litter. All of her bros and sisters are around 7 or 8 lbs. Except her one brother-- he weighs 10lbs! Rosie is full grown and weighs 5.2lbs. I was told she would be about 7-8lbs full grown. She's still the smallest of her litter. Being small doesn't mean they're unhealthy... as long as she's eating enough, she should be okay. And, if you're worried, you might want to give her some nutrical.

| My Princess was the runt of the litter. When I got her at almost 13 weeks, she weighed 1.2 pounds. She is almost 8 months old now, weighs 3 pounds. No health issues at all. Bouncy & full of mischief. Eats good----but typical Yorkie, just nibbles at her food some days. |
