It would be great if you could take on this little guy too, to give the one you are adopting a playmate. They could grow up together.

That poor puppy ! OMG What kind of breeder lets something like that happen ?? I don't know what to tell you but dogs can be perfectly happy on 3 legs but man - the pain that poor baby must be having from that happening....My heart goes out to him. GOOD luck and if you do take the little guy - all the best to you

Do you have kids at home? I think that should be considered also. But, if you don't I think you should give it a try. They could keep each other company, no crying at night, etc. If it just doesn't work out, some good soul here on YT is always willing to help. Good luck!

Its a male and he is 5 weeks old right now.

If you can afford the upkeep of 2 dogs, I say go for it.
No one can have just 1.

The pens are inside and she takes great care of her puppies. It was another yorkie but she said the mother that did it is the sweetest of all her dogs and she thinks she thought it was one of her own pups and was trying to pull it through. Luckily she was just in the other room and when she heard a yelp she rushed in and took the puppy to the vet as soon as it happened.

Hubby would dis-own me if I even mentioned it.....he says "I was ok with 1 dog; I was ok with 2 dogs; I was ok with 3 dogs;....poor guy, now we have 5!

I'm in Baton Rouge. My boyfriend is the one begging me to take the puppy. He saw it and fell in love and wants us to help it but I am just concerned because I have never had a yorkie before so taking on two would be a lot and I am also scared that the one with four legs would bully the other. It is just a lot to think about but there is plenty of time to make a decision because she is going to keep him until he is ready to go home.

Oh man that is just sad. Poor baby. If you guys can't take the puppy maybe she would be willing to let someone on here have the puppy. I'm sure several people would love to give him/her a home.

That can happen if one female has had puppies and then another one has them in the same household. I have a female that had two litters and the got fixed. Our second female has her first litter and the fixed female would try to take a puppy. Needless to say they stayed separated for awhile. The mom is so mellow she let her borrow one after about 5 weeks. Prior to that they stayed apart as it was safer. I agree it was just a freak thing when the second dog just wanted a puppy to love too......Yorkies can be very maternal....

OMG! I wish we could take it. My husband did not want two dogs but bought me Kiwi since I always wanted a Yorkie. I just asked him and it was a huge No! I pray the little baby gets a warm and safe home.

If I were you I would get it especially she is not asking for any money for him/her...I think you would be a good mom for him/her.. poor little pup....as long as you give him a good caring/loving home he/she can't tell the difference..... he only knows that he /she is lucky to be loved.....

I just left a message with a friend of mine who was looking for a dog for her mother (her father passed away a few months ago and she was going to get a dog for her mom for company) Anyways, I had to leave a message. Please keep us posted. If she is interested I wil pm you.
