| Pet cooling Pad It's really hot and sticky here in NYC, and Max becomes so lethargic. So do I! I ordered a pet cooling pad which has channels filled with crystals that hydrate (absorb water) and transfer the heat from the dog's body into the water. This is good because dogs don't sweat. I also ordered a collar that does the same thing because it's too hot for him outsde. I hope it works to make him more comfortable. Judy

| I got it today. That was quick. I set it up, but I'm letting the cover dry before I see how Max likes it. Here's the site: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...X:NEWLIST#LIST

| Funny you mention this, I was seriously just talking to my hubby about this pad too! I actually saw it in a ''GW Little'' catalog..I LOVE this catalog, the cutest things for our furbabies..you can check the stuff out at www.gwlittle.com..trust me, you'll see what I mean. I thought the pad was the best thing yet for the hot, humid summers!

| Update on Max and his cooling pad: He thinks it's a toy, won't lay down on it, and looks at me like I'm crazy when I put him on it. I'm waiting for a really hot, muggy day to put him on it and then we'll see. In the meantime, it's great for me! I set it up a couple of days ago and it's still nice and cool. I lay it on my stomach while I'm watching TV and it really cools me down! I highly recommend it for humans. I guess it depends on the dog. Max isn't big on clothing, he's a fussy eater, etc. It's perfect for travel. I also ordered the collar, which I didn't get yet. I'll let you know. Worst case scenario - I'll have a nice cool neck when it's really hot.

| That's a nice website! I paid about $14.00 with S&H, but it's smaller and not as pretty. I like their seatbelt padded harness.

| Max has a pad that holds water and it keeps him cool, You can even freeze it and you can buy the heater that you can use in winter. It is in his kennel and he loves it. I did not buy it, I got it at a yard sale but the website on the pad is: Smoothsoft.com Cannine cooler pet bed-model 1824 !-888-244-5569

| Wow, that's cool (no pun intended!). It sounds like those things they make for golfers that you soak in water and then put in the fridge and put around your neck when you're playing in the heat. They really help! One word of caution before anyone does what I did (to my husband's neck things)...DO NOT freeze them....they get cold enough just by wetting them and keeping them in the fridge; I froze ours and the little beads must have swelled up or something and started coming out thru the fabric.
