| Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | I don't think he was intentionally doing it either, tho it is possible. They figure out lots of things that make us stop doing a behavior and its possible that they can fake that noise too. However the reverse sneeze itself its nothing to worry about. I do agree with him that the leash was not causing it. his excitement was causing it.

| It will be repeated again at 1am (EDT) tonight ... Fosse is a cute yorkie ... when he started barking - my two started also, until I said, "NO" .. One thing i did not care for was when he put the choke collar on Fosse. He did, however, switch to the harness right away b/c the owner was worried she was hurting Fosse. Very cute!!!! Thanks for telling us ....

| I just posted about this on the other thread about this episode! I thought it was interesting how he says you should only say the dog's name when it's something positive. I hadn't thought of that. Also, that was a good point about stopping his behavior right at the beginning so it doesn't escalate. Hated the collar though..glad he changed to a harness. I also asked this on the other thread, and I almost feel sacreligious or something for saying it, but does anyone else get the feeling that he doesn't like little dogs as much as bigger working dogs?

| I had it on and didnt realize a Yorkie would be on. When I walk back into my room my daughter tells me " Mom look at the Yorkie ,Cesar is trying to help! I was like OMG, his little size and hair reminds me of Cookie lol. Cookie doesnt bark at the iron or ironing board. He used to bark at the vaccum but he got tired of that after a few months and now he just goes to my bed for a nap while I vaccum. I am going to train Angel NOT to bite my mop though. As soon as he sees me mopping he runs and starts biting and yanking the mop from me. I always forget NOT to mention their name when I say No! I forget sometimes and say " Angel! No!" Instead of just saying no! Also the Loud "SHHH!!" sound does work and it startles my dogs. Genie Cookie Lola Angel |

| Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | I love using the sound Caesar makes. Its so much easier and quicker then saying no. Plus i think it gets the point across better. I've been watching the dog whisperer all week since nothing else has been on. He really does know dog behavior and i have to say a lot of his methods are right now. so far this week i haven't seen anything i didn't like, even with the way he treated the yorkie. all the stuff he said about little dogs is true. people do treat them differently then big dogs. They humanize them more and forget that bottom line, they are still dogs. dogs with the same behaviors and mentalities are big dogs, sometimes they are worse because of what small dog owners do to them.

| So, do I understand this right, you do not use their names when correcting them; only when you praise them? With 5, how will they know who I'm correcting if I don't say their name? LOL |

| I don't get National Geography so I have a question. Ellie acts the same around the vacuum and ironing board. How did Cesar correct it? If it is the SHHH sould while pushing her back it doesn't phase her. Did he try something else with this dog? Thanks. BLowry, our dogs would probably like to attack the vacuum together.
