| All three of mine had the runs at one time and the floating stool tests were $16.50 but they also did a special test for Giardia (sp?) on one of the stool samples and that was an extra $30.00. I think the simple floating test tests for all sorts of worms so I think your vet is extremely high. My old vet charged $25.00 for the floating test. Doesn't it just chap your hide that vets vary so much in price?? I was getting so disgusted with what my old vet was charging that I started with a different vet. He is about half the price of the old one and he seems wonderful. I think prices vary by where you live too. The bigger city vets can charge a lot more than the small town vets. If I were you, I'd look around for a different vet. Good luck!

| Hi, I was just complaining about this the other day. We also pay about $50 here in MD and this does NOT include a re-check. $200 to check four dogs poo, seems so not right.

| Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | That is exactly why your fecal float cost so much money. I think its ridiculous that some offices can't do it themselves. Its extremely easy to do and you have results in 10 minutes. I've done thousands of them. At the last place i worked at we charged $18 i think maybe less.

| These stool tests I get for $50 are (like i said before) sent to the labs and they check for everything...worms and even giardia included. But if y'all are getting the same tests done for much lower prices in fecal tests, then I'm hightailin' it to somewhere else I'm wondering if these fecal tests you guys get for your furbabies check for everything or just specific worms? I know sometimes the price goes up depending on what you want to check for. For instance, if you wanted to get heartworms checked, you just pay X amount. But if you wanted to check for heartworms and tapeworms, then you pay more. Is this the case for you guys?

| Mine charges $15 and I'm able to drop it off. I don't have to bring the kids in so I don't get charged for an office visit either.

heartworm is a totally different type of worm and requires a totally different type of test. Blood is needed for this test so it has nothing to do with the fecal.

| HAHAHAHAHA! Love that response ... here I pay about $35.00 a poop ... and if I merely drop it off, that is the price, if the baby gets seen, add $49.50 to that.

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I think it's about 17-20 bucks depending on what is done/tested for.
