I'm wondering if these fecal tests you guys get for your furbabies check for everything or just specific worms? I know sometimes the price goes up depending on what you want to check for. For instance, if you wanted to get heartworms checked, you just pay X amount. But if you wanted to check for heartworms and tapeworms, then you pay more. Is this the case for you guys? |
For a regular fecal floatation all types of intestinal parasites are checked for. If the pet is having diarrhea of unknown cause then a direct fecal will also be taken and this is to look for giardia and something else. It is a little bit more. combined its probably $30ish.
heartworm is a totally different type of worm and requires a totally different type of test. Blood is needed for this test so it has nothing to do with the fecal.
