| Tags are a MUST today-July 4 Today may be the most common day of the year for dogs to go missing because of fireworks. Just a friendly reminder to make sure your pets are wearing tags with your phone number on it. It is a common story to hear of pets who run away on July 4 and they were not wearing their tags. A friend of mine, whose dog always wore tags, had taken off the collar because the dog had been swimming and the color was running. WHO CARES? When the dog ran away (fear of fireworks) he really regretted taking that collor off. A simple dog tag could get your dog back to you sooner than anything else (even a microchip, which I recommend too). If you don't have a tag for your yorkie, you can get them made on the spot at Petsmart and Petco. Oh--and a collar for the tag won't hurt your yorkie. I can't recall reading anywhere in YT about a Yorkie choking by simply wearing a collar. But I HAVE read many stories (almost weekly) about missing Yorkies without tags who never returned. |

| Thanks for the reminder. Both my babies ALWAYS wear collars. When I walk them, I use a harness. |

| Thank you for the reminder! My mom lost her beloved toy poodle because she didn't think he needed his collar on in the house or their fenced in back yard. One day he managed to escape and without a collar on. That was 4 years ago and he was never found. Mine ALWAYS wear a collar and tag - even in the house. You just never know and its better to be safe than sorry.
