| Please help me... Tucker is great for the most part but I'm in tears right now. If I lay down on the floor with him he immediately attacks my head. He lunges at my head over and over, pulls at my hair with his teeth, and bites my ears...it really really hurts. I know he's just playing (or I hope!) but when he gets like that he doesn't care that he's hurting me (I've yelped, yelled "Ow!", cried) and he won't listen to "No!" or "sit." When it's time to go bed, though, he has no problem laying on my chest, calm as can be. Any suggestions? They are desperately needed...

YT 500 Club Member | He is just a puppy and he is playing as soon as he starts to pull on your hair or nip your ears tell no firmly and give him a toy that is ok to chew on.. if he keep going at your head simply get up, move away and ignore him.. eventually he will catch on. Armani does this too.. its a puppy thing..

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | I know if I lay down on the floor with the girls, they want to play like that also. I guess we are getting down to there level and they want to play with us like they would play with another dog. I guess if you don't like this sort of "play" I would suggest not to lay down with him on the floor. Good luck! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | We all through this w/ puppies - it's just a natural behavior for them to mouth/chew/explore/play/act crazy. Continue to "yelp" in as high a pitch as you can. Someone on here had a GREAT suggestion for a misbehaver - she uses a small metal bowl and will say "NO!" while banging the bowl w/ a spoon. It is a really startling noise and usually stops them in their tracks. So, you could bang, yelp, then say no. Geesh! Oh - and redirect if he chews - give him a chew over and over until he gets it (after saying NO). This is better than, say, a spray bottle or confining etc. bc it's not punishment - it's teaching. How old is the little stinker?

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | water I had always heard of using a squirt bottle?? I guess it would be kinda hard to have one in ur hand while playing but maybe keep it within reach and when u see his play escalates to hard biting....squirt him.

| He's only four months. I figured it was a puppy thing but it's seriously aggressive so I was freaked. I'll just keep doing what I've been doing and hope that he eventually cuts it out! Hopefully my poor ears can handle all the abuse until he does learn...I'm seriously hoping he doesn't swallow an earring! It makes me feel better that it's not just Tucker though. Thanks all!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I think she's very, very rarely on here, if at all. She's a wonderful breeder and she shows, takes very good care of her dogs and pups. Her website is golddustyorkies.com. Also, if you look at AZKaty's avatar - she has an adult male who is just unreal cute!
