I have never heard of a Biewer Puppy Mill, most puppy mills will not pay that high a price for a Biewer, let alone have enough for a puppy mill. What state are the Biewer Puppy Mills in that you are referring to? It would kill me to think a breed that is sooooooooo sweet could end up in a puppy mill, I can't stand a puppy mill of any kind as all on this forum hate, and generally puppy mill puppies are sold to pet stores. Have you ever seen a Biewer in a Pet Store for sale? I agree with you be very careful who you sell you puppies to, and make sure to get references, from their Vet for a starter. Also ask for pictures of their house, and pictures of their yard, and of any other animals they have.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | If anyone has any information about a biewer puppy mill, please PM me or contact me through my website. There is not one biewer breeder that I know of that would willing sell to a puppy mill. Please share where this is coming from. |

When you say listed in Az. Is their actually a list of Biewer Breeders in the US. I am going to check on Google right now, to see what I can find out. I am so saddened by this news.

There are ALOT more than 20 Biewer breeders in the US. New ones crop up everyday when you do a goggle search. The only way any of us can stop the puppymills is with legislation but it is a very slow process and big $$$ is involved.

| I do not want to promote a particular puppymill central website, so I won't mention the name, but there are several members there that have purchased the Biewers for big bucks (I'm thinking 2K- 5K) from Germany, and many of the other members, who of course have multiple breeds and USDA licenses, Sundowner buildings where the dogs all live in cages 25/7 were highly interested in them. I don't remember whether they lived in Missouri or not (puppy mill capital), but I'm pretty sure it was there or one of the other puppy mill states in the midwest. I don't remember whether she was a Hunte client or not. I also do not remember whether she said who the German breeder was she was getting the dogs from. They aren't Biewer puppy mills they are in, just your regular run of the mill, all breeds that might make money, puppy mills. If the dogs are sold at one of the many auctions held in the midwest, and it is a "rare" breed, or proven bitch/stud, or bred - the millers are most than happy to shell out several thousand for it - they will certainly make their money back breeding them every heat cycle for 10 or more years. I know a gal on another site posted about a Biewer showing up in Petland in Calgary - with it's tail docked, of course a no-no for Biewers and German dogs in general. I can't go into petstores, so I have never seen any myself here in the states. |
