| Need opinions and advice please.... ok, I have been thinking about another pup lately harley is almost a year old and the best thing i could ever have asked for. no problems with training or tearing anything up, sleeping, etc. anyway, i have been looking around (just curious) and i decided to email the breeder i got him from. i havent talked to her lately, i emailed her to ask her how everything was going and how her kids are and i asked if any more puppies were on the way.... i really felt she would not be having more puppies from our last conversation. she has been fostering "skin" babies and has been really busy. well she said in about 9 weeks she will be having puppies! the only dogs she has is harley's mom and dad and she was planning on getting the mom fixed but this pregnancy was not planned and she admits its her fault for not getting mom fixed which she plans on doing after these pups are born..... soooooo do you think this is a sign???? i mean if i was to get another i would really have wanted it to be from harley's mom and dad..... i need opinions on having 2... honest pros and CONS. i have 2 cats and 2 children too ages 8 and almost 4. i am a stay at home mom.... i'm just so afraid to make a decision or even mention this to my hubby. about a month or so ago, i told him i was having puppy fever and his exact words were "ARE YOU CRAZY?"

| Hey, I can't really offer you any advice on whether or not you should get another puppy. I think that's a very hard very personal decision. Just letting you know, I'm in the same boat. My Lexie's parents are having another litter this fall and I am going back and forth. Lexie will be a year old then. I'm like you, I'd like them to be blood sisters. I just keep thinking that I'm scared to take any time and attention from Lexie. She loves to be the center of the universe. I also think that's twice the brushings, twice the vet visits, twice the grooming, twice the baths...Mainly it's about how would Lexie feel. Tough decision. Good luck with whatever you end up deciding. Oh, and when I first told my BF about my puppy fever he reacted like your husband. He started to soften and now it's more or less up to me. |

| I'm having puppy fever, too -- Maxwell is only 6 months old. I don't have 2 kids, but the more I think about it the more I think it's not for me. He is so easy now to take around, etc. But I understand your wanting another one from the same parents if you had such a good one. Good luck with what you decide. |

| Do It!!!!!! I would say that is a sign! We got our second, Willow, from the same breeder that we had gotten Biscuit from. I had to talk my boyfriend into it too, but now he is head over heels for her! It really is no big difference having two rather than one, but there is lots more love and cuddling and everything. Plus, you have been through all the puppy phases before, the second time is easier, or at least it was for us. It is so great having two of them, they play together and keep each other company.....I say go for it! Last edited by eringabrielle; 06-26-2007 at 09:55 AM. Reason: oops, misspell |

| It is a hard decision... I even thought I would ask the lady if I could bring Harley over to see how he reacted to the puppies / and mama and daddy first when the time came. I always heard before I had both of my kids that having 2 is the same as 1 pretty much.... well I know now thats not true!
