| Ack Ants!!!!! Little tiny ants in my babies' food dishes?!?!?! UGH! I know I saw an "ant proof" dish somewhere years ago and I had no need for it at the time. Anyone know where I can find something like that? I don't want to use pesticides inside the house, I don't care that they say that they're safe when dry. With my luck, my dogs would lick it, they both LOVED the bitter apple I used on the baseboards Help!!!

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I don't know what kind of floor you have, but if you can take some chalk and draw a circle around the dog dish, the ants will refuse to cross it. Guaranteed.

| Ants are the very reason why we chose not to free feed. I keep their food in a plastic container and keep it in the fridge and feed them in the morning and at night and wash their bowls asap! So. Cal is like living on a huge ant hill and it amazes me how quickly they can find things. I kill every singles "scout ants" I find. I hate ants!!! Soon as there's a trail, I grab the caulking gun and block the new entry way.

| I've also heard ant's don't like a lotion from Avon - I think it's called "Skin so Soft" or something like it. You're supposed to rub it on the bowl and the ants stay off. Supposed to work but I've never tried it.

BANNED! | Put a large plate down with water in it (enough to allow the ants to drown in it). Then put the food dishes on the plate with water in it. The ants will not be able to cross the water to get to the food and will fall into the water and drown. This way there are no pesticides to hurt your furkids. |

I have to free feed mine, or they get too hungry, especially little tiny butt Luna. She eats a few pieces of kibble every couple of hours, and doesn't do well if she doesn't. Izzy, on the other hand, is getting chunky.
