I just pray we are able to get ZEKE back before you leave. I am hopeful, not that Galatea is on board. But I am so worried about the police force dragging their feet on this one as they have done in the past. I really think it is going to take us getting a PI, and doing all the footwork the police should be offering, but will not, if we want to bring our boy home. So glad the weekend went so well for you, you deserve it, it had to be a very beautiful event and one to remember!!!! I'm so happpy for you!!!! Hugs, Jeannie |

Firstly I want to express my concern for the safe return of Zeke to Maureen, I could think of nothing better than for her to be reunited with her baby. I know I'm going to get flamed for this post but I really am amazed and disappointed at some peoples complete disreguard for things. My first concern is how many of you encouraged for someone to question the small child!!!!!!! WTH! How would you feel if a stranger walked up to your child and started asking them questions? Whether you feel the child's family has broken the law or not this is completely unacceptable! If that wasn't bad enough someone suggested following the child to school in an attempt to find out their name! This is soooo morally wrong yet the amount of people agreeing with it was unbelievable! What then astonded me was how later on in the thread someone suggested contacting a medium and someone else said it was wrong in the Lord's eyes... what, and harrassing a child for information or following them isn't??? The personal information posted! OMG, someone else mentioned this and said how it was unfair if it turned out they didn't have Zeke and you've posted all this stuff about them and that person was then slandered! Certain people needed to go back and read this post... what she said I agree with 100%. Yes, we all are praying for Zeke's safe return but why do we need to be publicly, not only nationally but internationally, relay information on them? Photos of their homes, addresses... is all that really neccessary... there is NO substanial proof that these people have Zeke. Someone saying he saw a simliar looking dog and then a small child saying it was such and such a dog is not substanial - no matter how bad the look was the father gave the child! Which, btw, Maureen originally said was as if to tell the kid to be quiet, it got changed to look that could kill somewhere through the thread! Stating that the police are useless, lazy, disinterested... hang on, they have jobs to do... as much as we all have to admit it, someones dog, whether it be living in the yard or in the home as a family member, will always be looked upon in the eyes of the law as just what it is... a dog. I'm not saying this is right or wrong but I do think that it is wrong of the amount of people that have said it is just as much as a priority as finding murderers, rapists, child aducters, etc.... I'm sorry, but how on earth does this compare?? They are or a completely different and more serious nature. How would you feel if a member of your family was murdered and the police didn't respond ASAP because they were dealing with a missing dog? Not too happy I'd imagine. Yes, Zeke is a much loved and missed family member and I'm not disputing that with my previous comments... I'm stating how it is seen in the laws eyes as still just a missing dog and as Zeke wasn't taken from Maureen's property then it's not theft, the dog was found and not handed in, it's different and by no means anywhere near being the same. Again, I'm not stating that this is my opinion or indeed fair by any means. I'd be just as torn up as Maureen if my Gypsy was missing and someone had her... by no means is she just a dog to me. My last point is that it turned out the houses that were being watched were not where Zeke was being held... in fact, Maureen was told by a neighbour of one that an elderly couple lived there who were both fraile and suffered from Altzehiemers and frequently falls... talk about vunerable people! There was everyone all set and ready to go jumping the fences into these peoples yards! I'm sure the police would of looked kindly on that. |

You are just the best of the best!!!!!! Big Hugs, Jeannie:thumbup:    :D |
Not the Grandma's house! Ok Maureen process of elimination is good. Now you can focus on finding the grandma's real home. Your right, if there had been signs of a dog there, you would have seen him. I'm sorry you have to continue to go through this. You have a good attitude and sound like a nice woman. God is watching over you and I believe he will lead you to Zeke.:animal-pa I will continue praying for ya. Now what should we do about the cops? I need names and dates on when you tried to unsuccessfully reach them. Kat |

Of course it is never favorable to blindly accuse people of things, and never acceptable to involve children in adult business, but putting preassure on someone when you believe they are in the wrong is not a wrong itself! Slander is only when someone makes KNOWINGLY FALSE statements, that from what I have seen is not what is happening here.... It sounds to me that you folks are awfully close to finding Zeke, so don't give up!!! Everyday people try to avoid correspondence from me in my profession (I am an attorney) and no one likes to be sued so they hide, and they hide assets and property and all sorts of things, but you can always trace them and what they are hiding in legal ways if you are vigilant enough!!! On a sidenote a PI or attorney may be something you may consider as I know there are more tools available for digging up the personal information of folks when you are a licensed PI or attorney. I am not as active as I had been previously on YT, but I am glad I took today off and saw this thread. Today the priest it my church is blessing pets at evening mass, and I planned to take Bruce. I will say a prayer and ask the priest to offer blessings for Zeke and his mother as well. Good luck everyone is praying for you! |
Link to Zekes candle page I know some have asked for it: http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/enter.cfm?l=eng Near the top of the page you will see "search" click on that. On the next page you will see "Group Search" and below that "Enter group initial" In that box you will need to type in Zeke. Then click group search right beside of that and it will take you to Zekes page, where you can light a candle for him. :aimeeyork |

The people who I said were slandered that you also picked up on was ONE person who I said posted something simliar and was slandered for it... maybe you misread my post about that point and I was the second member to of said the person was slandered after posting. I never mentioned anything about anyone putting pressure on anyone and I don't see what relevance this has to do with my point about approaching children. You're paragraph on the otherhand seems to be condonning it though saying that if you feel someone is in the wrong then this is acceptable. If this isn't how that sentance is suppose to then I've obviously misread but that is how it reads to me. |
Difference of opinions concerning Zeke In my eyes Grand theft larceny is just as much a crime as murder, rape and child abduction...and should be taking just as serious:exclaim: Other then that, I agree with you about following the child and slandering innocent people...it is morally wrong and invading. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. In the end, it's up to Maureen to keep what she needs and discard the rest...as far as opinions and suggestions go. We all need to keep a level head here. I'm sure most of the comments we have made were out of despair and frustration... I'm sure they were just frustrated at the lack of the police concern and actions. Pointing the finger and judging isn't going to help get Zeke back any faster. We need to stay focused and united as a team. We don't want to upset anyone to the point of losing their help. Just my opinion. Kat & Jack I can't stress enough....put yourself in Maureens shoes if this were your furkid.:aimeeyork |
Theft in the first degree Perhaps in some jurisdictions this is not a theft, but in most States in the United States theft is defined not simply as actually taking, but also as exerting unauthorized control of the property of another with the intent to deprive the rightful owner AND to appropriate lost property with the intent to deprive the rightful owner. The value of a yorkie (if we choose to just view it as merely property) can easily exceed $1500 which is the typical definition of a theft in the First Degree. So keeping Zeke is indeed not just a crime and a theft but a felony level offense. The police have special units that are dedicated to property crimes so no one is taking folks away from catching murderers or child molesters and in light of that I would put the preassure on these officers if they are still not taking it seriously! Yes police have jobs to do, but if they are not doing them, are lying to vicitims of crimes even if they "are just missing dogs", people have the right to complain. Well said girl!!!!!!!!!!!! Kat |
Hello BrucesMommy: I have been reading this thread since it started, and was very unwilling to add my to shillings, but there is no need to focus on one thread. Any and all statements were only written in the best interest of the situation which has occurred. There is crime all over the world, take little maddie who has been missing for the last few months, someone pocketed her fathers wallet, with precious pictures of his four year old daughter. Although, the wallet was returned, am sure that everyone in the England was so happy for him. Without reashing the who said, he said, she said. This is a public forum and let's remember that most statements are written from others viewpoints and opinions nothing more. Tulip |
