Zeke Just finished reading all the postings since yesterday. That took a while. I see that Zeke has not been located yet. Maureen if I were you I would drive over to the PD. This time I would not speak with his immediate supervisor I would insist on speaking to someone above the supervisor. If they are uncooperative then I would take my story to the press. No one likes back press. When going to the press you do not have to tell them about the people you think have Zeke you can just say that the PD has been less than cooperative in your search for you lost furbaby. Just an idea that may motivate the PD to be a little more cooperative. I continue to pray for Zeke's return. j:) |

Still no news...I will keep on praying!!! |
Keep the faith; he's probably looking for you too. I'm sure he's safe and sound, just waiting to be picked up by you or someone else safe who can get in touch with you to bring him home. I'll be praying for a quick return! |
I lit a candle as well and also donated money. Maureen we are getting very close to getting your baby in your arms. It is only a matter of time! |
so every one knows Maureen is safe I just got off the Phone with her. Remember she can have internet problems sometimes. I am in contact with her a few times a day. I am sure she'll be on tomorrow to talk. Her ear and other things were keeping her away. Night all |

I have been reading all the posts since I logged off, and I just thought I would add that I think it would be a bad idea to get into the house, it would raise to much suspicion, and the fact that the dog is kept in a back bedroom would not allow you to ID or take a picture of the dog. I feel the only way to get him and I am going to be honest, is with a search warrant from the police, or breakinto the house when no one is home and take him. I know the second is not going to be very popular, but if it is my dog I would break down the door, storm in their with 2 of the biggest men I could find and take my dog back!!!!!!! I know that is not an option, but I am so tired of taking one step back all the time. I also do not think Officer Nickerson is working there and the number we have for him, is not the way to get ahold of him. I think Maureen and her Husband need to go to the police station and request information as to when they would be able to get ahold of Officer Nickerson, he could be on vacation. If he is unavailable, we need a new officer on the case. They should remain calm, but direct. It does not help anyone to get the Modesto police against you, we need them to help us get Zeke, so no matter how we all feel, we have to hold those feeling in, and abide by the law! I also think it would be best if anyone could sit in their car during the daylight, and that could be Maureen and her kids, and watch the house with her camera, all we need is one picture with the lady and the dog. I also know Galantea has a great head on her shoulders and we should take her advise, as she has done this before, and she knows the importance of not taking the law into your own hands. I don't think the lady would let anyone in her house, she has ZEKE hidden anyway, and all that could do is raise suspicion and make her place Zeke else where, than where are we????? I know how hard it is for each and everyone of you to take a step back and a deep breath, we have gotten over many hurtles, the good news is we now know where ZEKE is, how bad can that be, we want to continue to know where he is, so do not draw any attention to yourselves buy pretending your car won't start etc. I also would not go to the door with flyers, that will only give them cause to believe we are on to them. Believe me if they go to the door, they are not going to chance ZEKE getting a chance to get out. They will probably have him locked in the back room, as it could be they are not allowed to have pets, so they will make sure hi is hidden. I do think sometime this weekend she will leave the house with ZEKE, and that is when we need to get the photo we need. Staking out the house is something we can do and should be doing, Maureen could make it fun for her kids, they have great eyes, and God willing we will get the pictures we need to go to the police. I will call the police again, and just ask if Nickerson is working there still, and if so what are his days that he is there. Please keep the prayers coming, the gifts, and the candles lite, we are as close as we need to be to get ZEKE back where he belongs, we do not want to blow it now. I also believe the weekend is the only chance to get Zeke, as these people probably work during the week days. I think if Maureen asks Scott to stake out one place, and she can stake out the other, at least we will not have lost the whole weekend. We so need a stake out. Maybe Maureen and her husband can take turns, so the house is staked for the whole day, and into the night. I don't know what I would do if we are this close and don't get that little guy home. I know how heartsick you all are, as I am also feeling the pain, but we have to take Galantea's advise, and fast is not always best. She will help us so much, and has the law on her side. I wish I knew what she told Maureen, I will have to give her a call and ask, I was unable to be on line yesterday and last night. Love to you all, Jeannie |
Detective I just got off the phone with the Modesto Police Dept. I was told that Officer Nickerson is still with the police force, I explained our situation, and said he is not returning calls, and asked if he was on vacation, what days he was on, and of course no answers, they can not give out that information, I got pretty upset, and she finally said that on Monday call Investigations, tell them you have a lead on the case, and they will get a Detective on it. So at least I have his number and can explain the case, and hopefully he will have a heart and do the stake out and get pictures we need. Because of their past performance, I don't think I would put all my trust in the Modesto Police Dept. However at the least we can talk to investigations and they will offer some kind of help. If they don't, I think I would go around to the back side of the house, break a window, climb in and take my dog. I know we can't do the above, but this getting no where is really getting to me, and all of us on this forum. I don't know what the problem is with this police force, but I do know they are the only ones that we can work with. other than to hire the other PI, which if we do not have ZEKE back by next week, we need to hire him for the weekend. Enough is enough, we are toooooo close to just do nothing, we need to get to ZEKE and bring him home, I really don't know why it would be sooooooo hard to get a search warrant with what we have now. The police are so stupid, maybe we could give them a picture of Maureen or her Husband and tell them we took a picture with the person with the dog. DUH, it would probably work to get a search warrant. We could deal with the results of fooling them when or if they ever even know the difference. I have to deliver a puppy today, I will check in later tonight. Love to all, Jeannie |

Zeke Checking for news on Zeke. Donna Jean, I am so glad that you called Modesto PD and at least made a point that the officer is not returning Maureen's phone calls. I don't understand them not giving his work schedule out, makes no sense. We give that out on a daily basis. Of course I don't understand him not returning her calls either unless he is on days off or on vacation. I thought she was told when she called earlier in the week that he would be working on the weekend. I am praying that the officer working investigations will be more assertive and sympathetic to Maureen's search. I will continue to pray for Zeke's safe return. j:) |
If yall know someone with a kid you could make up a fake order form and let the kid act like they are going door to door selling cookies...well preordering for cookies...order now and pay when you receive the cookies...that way you dont steal their money and cause problems. Then maybe the kid might see the dog and say "oh how cute! can i pet it?" maybe even take a pic with camera phone(this would be great cause you would have picture proof)...something to ID the dog. Lol. I know it sounds crazy but its a way to get someone unknown to make an attempt to see the dog. Just show the kid a good picture to study closely and then if sees dog...ID it as Zeke! Im trying to think up anything and everything to legally and safely try to ID Zeke so we can get that out of the way! Shoot...what tigerr__ said earlier about have someone act like car broke down and need to use phone that cell phone outta service for some reason..if see Zeke...SNAP! with that camera phone! ;) Goodluck and prayers to everyone!! (esp Maureen and Zeke!) |
Good morning every one!!! I thought from the start we needed an investigator/detective either with the Modesto police department or on our own. I still believe this to be true. If Maureen had dozens of people helping her watching these houses, following these people to get an actual picture of the dog that may be Zeke...then we would most definitely have the proof for the police to ask for a search warrant...and the judge to issue one. BUT, Maureen does not have that kind of help, these places/people need to be watched 24/7, nobody but a detective of some kind can offer that. The police department should have offered her a detective from the department...which would not cost her anything...but they have not, so we need to hire our own!!! THIS IS WHY WE NEED GIFTS FOR ZEKE!!! Again Maureen can not do this alone, she needs our help. I will pray now... |
I must have missed something....how do we know that it is zeke that is in the house?? One sentence is enough lol I know we are all trying to think of a way to get him out but I would not want to put a child in that situation. |

I've just been catching up on the posts since yesterday and I see lots of suggestions, and frustration. Unfortunately, the bottom line is we have to stay inside the limits of the law, no matter how desperate we are to bring Zeke home. Maureen, hope you are feeling better today today Hon. And don't ever worry about Zeke forgetting you. When I left South Africa, I had an adorable Matlese name Tasha. I went back once a year to visit my family, and each time when I walked through the front door after arriving, Tasha would go totally beserk. Twelve months would have passed, and this little dog never forgot me. During one time period, I was unable to visit for over 2 years, and still that little girl remembered me. She was only 7 years old when I immigrated, and lived for 18 years (would you believe it!) That dog never ever failed to remember me, would follow me around like a little white shadow, every day that I spent there. So don't ever concern yourself about your Zeke forgetting you.:aimeeyork Hugs to you all for the day, Lauren |
ok sorry cause i dont know where this story is right now. Zeke is missing right? and you know where he is? Can someone give me a quick run down? |
Jeannie - you go girl!!!! I can just hear you on the phone with the Modesto PD reaming them out for their total lack of action and lighting a firecracker under their collective butts from all those miles away.:thumbup::thumbup: I send for you healthy and happy puppy thoughts for the new precious baby that is on the way. Let us know how Mama and Yorkie morsel are doing. Luv ya, Lauren:) I will be in and out again the whole day. Sheesh! don't these people realize they are taking up waaaaaay to much of my YorkieTalk Time!!! |

Lauren...How'd the wedding day go??? Jeannie...Any puppies yet??? Others...No we do not have a positive ID...only suspicions that there is A dog in that house...which may in turn be Zeke...or Tahoe as the boy claims. IDEA!!! If there is nobody around this house...can we sneak over the backyard wall/fence and check for dog poop??? Is this legal, or trespassing??? |

a week's worth of posts for the whole story. |
Thank You Judy, THAT IS WONDERFUL. You girls could work for Scotland Yard. |
I must have miised the post where Maureens friend spotted him too. REALLY? She /he knows it was Zeke? well then take the friend to the MPD to tell them she has a positive ID. Quote:
|
It is all speculation...Maureen has to positively ID this dog...as Zeke...before a search warrant can be issued and the judge signs it. A child id'd the picture of Zeke on the poster as "Tahoe", which his father says is the childs grandma's dog. The friend had spotted a dog at this address while dropping his kids off, that he states looked like Zeke. There is no proof yet!!! |

If anyone gets in the back yard, don't look for poops, break a window get, Zeke and get out!!!!!! You could get a poop, and Maureen could have a poop of his that has not been picked up yet, and the could do poop DNA, that has to be the poop, I mean proff they would need!!!!!!!! You can say your contact popped out of your eye and went over the fence, and you were searching for it. Or your bird flew into the yard and you are trying to catch it. I am sure their are a lot of reasons to be in that back yard. While back there, call for ZEKE and see what bedroom the bark comes from, take a look and a picture, the blinds are probably open, as their is no access to the back yard except through the two houses. That ought to be pretty hard to get into. I don't know this is killing me, not to be able to be their!!!!! Later, Ladies Jeannie |

i was so hoping that he would be found by now with so many people helping and i hope you find your baby soon Maureen!!!! |
Do these two homes where you think Zeke might be have privacy fences in the backyards? If so you may never get a picture of them walking Zeke. Also I was wondering if they don't have privacy fences....is there a way to watch the back of the houses. I would assume that they wouldn't parade Zeke out in front or walk down the street. The other thing is.....is that you can drive with a Yorkie in the car and unless you have a booster doggie seat you would never know that there was a dog in the car. This is a tough one for sure. I would be going crazy! ....but I think unless you can get a picture....the best bet is a PI or the police. I'm saying a prayers for you and for Zeke..... |
