I know Sweetie, but you could also blow our cover and get these people very suspicious if they see you, and they could place Zeke somewhere else, it is important that you are not seen in that neighborhood, you do not want to alert them. This is a job for the police and professionals if you want to get your boy back. I know you are anxious, and so are all of us. But to get him you have to take the proper steps. That is with a Lawyer, PI and 2 policeman, on that speaks Spanish and Officer Nickerson who is in charge of this case. These people are committing a felony, and it has to be handled as such, and it is going to get nasty out their and you do not need to get yourself in over your pretty sweet head!!!!!

Okie dokie! We have 2 candle groups going for Zeke. One's initial is Z and the other is Zeke. I've just lit one under the Z group as well as the Zeke group!

MAUREEN, hope the ear is all better by tomorrow. If the officer DICKerson has not called back tomorrow, do you think it would be worthwhile to go down to the station, leave him a note, telling him you have LEGAL COUNCIL who will NOT be ignored - might get him off his butt.

I just got back from Sacramento and had a call from Proud Mommy on my voice mail.

I contacted my PI. He is on vacation until 8/1. His secretary said that while they have an hourly rate, they usually can work out a flat fee per day for Modesto area surveillance and there is no mileage charge with that.

I will try and get a hold of the other PI this weekend since the first one is out of town.

There are two different ones that I work with here that I trust. I made the first inquiry with my primary guy. His secretary got back to me with an email that he is out of town until 8/1 and she gave me the flat fee info. She had spoken to him on the phone that day.

I didn't want to contact the second PI until I got info on whether or not the first one was available. Since my primary guy isn't around until 8/1, I will call number two this weekend, but may not hear back from him until Monday.

I am busy in meetings until about 1 PM tomorrow and then have a block of time from 1-4 PM if Maureen wants to call.

As I posted earlier, these guys aren't cheap and the rate can vary.

The first guy quoted $75.00 per hour for surveillance plus .50 cents a mile BUT said that for Modesto surveillance he can work out a flat daily fee of $650-700 which is likely to be cheaper than the regular hourly and mileage rate. I use him all the time and we have provided him with a lot of business on a regular basis. He does LOTS of insurance fraud work, so is used to staking out houses and getting damaging pictures without being noticed.

I know the second guy charges $95.00 an hour plus mileage and so I would rather not use him due to the excess costs. I don't think there would be a break from him, since he has not had much business from me in a while.

I hope you can get the other guy before Monday, because to have to wait now two more days, I don;t know!

I know we may be able to work something out with the first guy:)

I just wish we could get the PI and get the stuff we need to search the house/s. And the officer is not helping at all he has not called.

I am concerned about the officer situation. He did not return my calls from a few weeks ago. He isn't returning her calls either.

Please understand that we could find the dog and get all the pictures we want but we can't MAKE the cops do anything, and it will take the police to get the dog if these people will not cooperate. There are no guarantees that the cops will involve themselves even with some proof.

I've been following this thread, but hadn't posted before.

I lit a candle for Zeke online, there is one burning in my heart too & tomorrow when I crawl out of bed I will light one for him at home.

May the Lord's grace & blessings shine on all involved in this search. May the evil doers soon be revealed. God let there be mercy for Zeke & his true family.

Before bashing the police, please consider the work load they have. YES, finding Zeke is important...to you/us...BUT more important to the police is finding the child who went missing, or catching that murderer, molester, drug dealer, or abuser. In the police departments eyes a missing dog is at the bottom of the totem pole.

Second of all, if someone thought that MY Oliver was a dog that looked like one that went missing, and they tracked down my mother, and put a PI out on us, AND posted a lot of MY information and accused me of being a thief on a public message board, I don't think I would be very happy. Please be very careful that you don't post anything that could possibly be turned against you. What if "Tahoe" does turn out to be Tahoe...not Zeke? It would be a lot of time, energy and resources wasted.

Please know that I want Zeke to be found just as much as anyone else on here (besides Maureen!) But please think twice about posting something personal, or slanderous about someone.

By the way, what would a PI do that can't be done by anyone else, regarding this case?

you sound just like my neighbor, he only a dog..... when Ichabob died in march of last year losing him was lik losing a part of my family, this family grive just as bad if not worst for him as we did for a human death. to you zeke is a dog... but to some of us zeke is a missing child thats out scared and lost and has no idea who he with. and we will look for as long as can and leave no stone uncover.. sure we might make mistakes , hurt some feelings, maybe go beyond what they should. but sometimes you have to go the distance. and I hope one day you will find that one special dog then you will understand how the rest of us feel... until then you have bo clue.........

Can you please find out what any detective's name who is working for Modesto district?
I have had it with these useless cops.
They dare call themselves officers.
A real officer is there to protect and assist.
I'm going to have my dad a "real" detective phone this department and speak with someone.
They need to get the lead out.
I could understand if Modesto was a high crime area and they were just short handed due to overwhelming crimes but I highly doubt this!
There was a woman in Boston last year, that had her dog taken right off her property while the dog was outside and withing 72 hours that same dog was back home with her.
The Boston police were amazing.
They not only listened and responded to her complaint, they went right to the person in question and banged down his door.
She too had a lead, an actual witness.
Low and behold, there was her Papllion at the door, barking.
They arrested the thief and he was charged with trespassing, endangerment and felony theft.
The dog was expensive and in Mass. anything over $500 is considered grand theft larceny!
My point is, some areas in Boston are high crime and these officer still had the time and heart to do the right thing for a fellow citizen.
If anything happens to Zeke that could have been avoided if an officer responded to this CRIME...I would sue them for insabordinainsubordination unbelievable!

Yes these wonderful angels are our babies and we will do anything for them, i am 45 and my three are my children when kaycee went missing twice within a month i grieved so much could not sleep or eat and was so depressed these babies are our lives our hopes,when i get home at night they are so happy to see there mom there love is soooo unconditional, theres no words really to describe there love. people call them dogs, mine are human to me.

I haven't read through all of this but I think the above poster meant well and tried to look at the situation from both angles. We pretty much think with our heart since we love our yorkies so much. I do feel there is a good chance that Zeke was stolen and I will lite a candle and you and Zeke are in my prayers. Hugs

They are not all as busy and swamped as you would like to think. My husband and I are friends with quite a few in both rowan county and anson county. Most, though not all, are very lazy and spend most of their shifts avoiding calls unless it is an absloute emergency. They could work on this if they wanted to, they just choose not to and i think its sad.
Oh, and just so you know. You may think its crazy or whatever, but 99% of the members on here do not look at our babies as "just dogs" they are members of our family.
