I got a phone call at about 10:40 from a man telling me a little dog with pointy ears and long hair was hiding in the corner of his garage. So I raced over there but unfortunately SHE was a little white and brown Papillon:( She was wearing tags so I called the owner an he came to pick he up. It reminded us what a small town we live in... The owner of the dog is the woman the cuts my husband and boys hair at Great Clips.:) I will not give up...The next call will be Zeke.

I am going to try to express how I feel to each and everyone of you. I was not raised in a very outwardly emotional family so it is hard for me to tell people how I feel. I usually end up saying nothing because I get embarrassed and sometimes people see that as unappreciative. I do have to say it is a little easier on a computer but not much, so I apologize for not thanking everyone more. The compassion that each of you has shown to me is amazing, I never in my life have been around such wonderfully people. I have experienced things in my life that has allowed me to give up on humanity. For years I felt it was more of an "every man for himself" type of world. God does everything for a reason and I belive that firmly, even though sometimes I forget that some things are lessons not punishments. For the last two weeks I have been angry with God because I felt He was punishing me for something I had done (or not done). I thought how could He take my dog away from me, why does He want me to be so unhappy? I have never lost anyone close to me so I have never really been mournful. I could always empathies with others but never really feal their pain. Losing Zeke has been the most painfully emotional experience I have ever had. I love my children and I love my husband but I have never been able to truly give my entire heart to them, I have always held back for fear of getting hurt... when I got Zeke every wall that had taken twenty years to put up crumbled. So this is the first time I have experienced real loss. I am beginning to see that I may get Zeke back, but first maybe I need to finish seeing what God is trying to show me. I think he brought me to you guys to show me that there are so many people in this world that do care. I think he wants me to see that it is ok to depend on people and to ask for help when I need it... not to just sit and hope that help will roll up on its own. I think he is giving me permission to show people how I really feal and not to be embarrassed or ashamed of my feelings. I had started to become disconnected, life is just what you do when your eyes are open. I have not been appreciating my life. I have always felt that Zeke is my little angel... well, maybe he really is. So again Thank you to every one of you for all you are doing to help me find my little boy, I will never give up.

Maureen, I understand you completely. Ad you will be even more surprised by the love that YT has for Yorkies And there Owners.
We all came to YT because of one thing.(YORKIES) But although we have that incommon we have other things in common also. People Think That I am Angel for doing the favor of taking Pattie Cake to Papi. I don't feel that way at all. I just Love to give and I love to Feel the love that comes from giving. Ok I am babbling here.... What I want to say is We are all here for you honey. Wether it is to Find Zeke or to help you though a Non Yorkie thing. YT is Like a HUGE Friendship ring that never breaks.
I know you told me your Hubby was Surprised by the YT comunity.
AND I think We all were at one time.

You say you are not good at expressing yourself with words but I thought you did an awesome job just now and before when you told all of us about your connection with Zeke. It is funny how our yorkies are able to break down even the toughest walls we have built around ourselves. In your post, I see alot of myself. I am glad you are not giving up on Zeke. Everyday alot more people see the threads, the myspace ads, puppyfind ads, the websites that have Zeke on them, and so on and one of these days, the right person is going to see it. That one person that knows where Zeke is and you will get that call. I am sure of it. Keep the faith.

This community continues to amaze me on a regular basis with the outpouring of love, support, compassion and ASSISTANCE it offers.

I've never seen so many great people in one place before. Clearly, I haven't seen many of them out in the world because they're all online!:p

I continue to pray for the safe return of your darling Zeke. And I try to think of anything else that can be done to make that happen, but this network seems to have the bases well covered indeed. If anyone can bring Zeke home, it's the wonderful people on this site.

Maureen, I had tears in my eyes Honey, as I was reading your post. I am so glad you found us here on YorkieTalk, even if it is for such a sad reason - your missing precious little Zeke. Never be afraid to open your heart and show your true feelings. You'd be amazed at the amount of love that comes pouring in, when the wall come down. We are ALL here for you as long as you need us. We will all do whatever it takes to bring Zeke home to you. He is out there somewhere, I truly believe this, and with all the exposure, all it needs is ONE person to see a picture, a flyer, a web page and their response will lead you to Zeke.
Is it not amazing how you have helped these other lost doggies in the past few weeks? Your actions sent them back home. The same will happen for you Maureen. Someone will do for you, what you have done for them.:hug60:

I am so sorry to hear about Zeke! It sounds like his mom had done a lot of work and doing the right things. I just think in a situation like that a very large reward with the word missing instead of stolen on the flyer's is her best option. The people that took him are obviously interested in the money. This may have been done already but with someone in the group that had a stolen Yorkie listed the amount of the flyer's. It must be an amount that is more than they could get for him by selling him. I will keep my eye out for Zeke!

I did get your PM, and I hope you got my response, it was a really long one, I also told you all about Judyeve, and some of the problems she is haveing with her computer, also her neck, I am hoping all the work she did, did not harm her neck more.

Maureen is getting the Zeke fund ready to go, so what do you think about hiring the PI Susan, I would really like to know what she charges, and how fast we would have to pay her to get her started if we choose to use her.

I think she could be very insturmental in getting the Wal Mart Tapes, that was such a messy follow up by the police, all he did was phone people. Gosh any one can say they don't speak English if they do not want to talk to a policeman. Duh,

I was very dissapointed in his lack of follow thru, I had wished for so much more, like the tapes, at Wal Mart, seeing Jose in person, and questioning him more, as at first he felt that it was Maureen's dog. We all know that our Yorkies look really different after they are groomed! They can be little dust balls sooooo fast, and get so dirty if outside, so I would imagine he would have looked different than the picture he saw!!!!!

I would also have liked him to question Paula more about the blonde she hired, did she have a green card, was she paying into SS, why did she fire her, or did she quit, and is on the run for fear of getting caught by the police.

Any one could have paid this girl at Wal Mart to sell the puppy, that was not the person who took him. So many questions with no answers, and that was the one lead that I felt was going to open the door for ZEKE to be found.

So lets find out how much for the PI, I know I will contribute, and I am sure their are a lot of other members that feel the same way, so we can get on with the search.

I still think, Vets, Newpaper adds on Yorkies for sale, and found, and lost, need to be viewed daily, as well as Shelters, Puppy Find, Etc, I would like to branch out a little more, as I have a feeling that the puppy has left the Modesto Area, and possibly Tracy.

Maureen still has the address of the blonde she thinks took ZEKE, maybe the PI or Maureen can go over their and see if she has really left town. If so no one needs to keep a watch on her house, which I would think the PI would want to do. If she see's the blonde, I am sure she should tail her, and question all her non speaking English Friends, Does the PI speak Spanish? It would sure be helpful.

I think you are so right on, missing with a large reward will not be so intimidating to the person who may have stolen him, or he could be lost and someone hopefully picked him up and is giving him great care, and trying to find his owner as much as his owner is trying to find him.

Ok I asked this girl about when she thinks she saw this yorkie and she said :

"i wasnt close enough to notice if it was male or female, it was sniffing around walking from yard to yard. I thought it strange for a little dog like that to be in the front, so i figured it must have gotten loose.

You have got to be kidding, you do a lot!!!!!!!! You have hung in there from the beginning, with assume Ideas, and always giving everyone so much support, we all love you, and are so happy you are with us on search for ZEKE, don't ever, ever, ever think that you are not helping, we all can not thank you enough for all your kind words and support prayers etc., you are one of the ones of many that keep us all going, we need all the support in the world, their is soooo much to do.

We are going to post a list of Kennels, Newspaper ads, and Vets, puppy find, etc., that we will be looking for volunteers to Pick an area and take that newspaper, or Shelter on in the area of their choice, on a daily basis if possible, that could be in their area or outside the area, as with our computers we can pull up a Newspaper from anywhere, and look at the adds and do a lot of checking.

I wish I could find the map of the Modesto Area, that was posted, so I could see the neighboring towns, that could broaden our search. Does anyone know what # the post was that had that wonderful map?

Again, I want you to know that you are helping in ways you are not even aware of, so hang in their with us, as we need all the people and support that we can get!!!!!!!!, in this ongoing search for ZEKE!!!!!! Still Praying!!!!

This news is so uplifting!!!!!! I hope that we can raise enough money through donations to hire Susan!!!!! Do you have any idea what her rates are, an how long she can wait to be paid? Or how much she needs to get started?

I am pleased you posted this because late last night I found a very comprehensive list of animal shelters throughout California. However, not being a Cali' native, I am kind of fuzzy on the geography, which city is in what county/ close to another etc. This may also be true for those helping out that are in other states.
So, what I am asking for on behalf of all of us location-confused members, is a list of cities/counties that are adjacent to the Modesto area. The only one I am aware of is Tracy, because of the whole WalMart connection.

I too, hope that the hiring of a detective is feasible. It just seems that the police's effort is minimal, at best. You make a good point about a Yorkie looking older, when it has not been groomed in a while. I know that when my 12 year old Spanky comes back from the groomers, she definitely looks a lot younger than she is. A disshevelled Zeke could definitely be mistaken for an older dog. I think it is a great pity that Maureen could not view the footage outside Walmart herself.

I also had similar doubts about this "disappearing" blond lady, for the exact same reason you did. If she was employed by this Paula, how come there was no information/no address.... that this so-called employer had on her employee????

I agree, I agree, I so agree!!!!! It was a lousy investigation to say the least! I gave the police officer her name and address, I don't know why he could not go to her house!
I just got the WORST NEWS from Maureen, the administration will not allow us to post an address to get funds from members on The Yorkie Talk Forum, I know their are a lot of people wanting to donate, however it can not be done on this site.

I am sooooo bummed, and so is Maureen, I thought if we got enough money we could hire the PI, or do a 1/2 page add in the paper. Now another road block, that I don't know how to get around.

I wonder if the people who want to make a donation could PM Maureen, and she could PM them the acct. number and address of the Bank. Any ideas on how to collect donations without going against the rules of the forum. Gosh I had no Idea that we could no do this. I wish they would have contacted us in the beginning when we were talking about it. It would not have gone so far and we would have come up with something else.

I'm with you about the Calif. area, I think we need a detailed Map of Modesto and the surrounding area. One was posted, but I can't find it again, and i have asked the members if they remember who posted it, and what the number of the post is.
