| Sadie loves swimming in the pool - but i watch her like a hawk because she fell in the pool a couple of times - but i was right there with her to rescue her!! I've ordered a life vest for her. Here are some pics of her by the pool:

| Great post! I never thought about chlorine, etc. Thanks. I don't have a pool, but you never know - we might go somewhere with one.

| Bebe will get in our pool if it is hot. He loves to be in with us and we hold him and let him swim to the ladder watching constantly. As someone said earlier you must watch them like children for they need to keep their little heads up. Bebe gets mad and takes off after we take him out but now he is getting more used to it. Attached some photos |

YT Addict | Pools and dogs are so fun! Aw they are too cute! We have a little kiddie pool for Bella and when it gets hot she will hop in and wade around. I really do need to get some pic though. |

| Lucy likes the pool. She jumped in one morning when we were having coffee and I about had a heart attack so now she has a vest. I also just ordered her a ramp and I watch her like a hawk

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | It should be just fine - just like us humans. Just make sure you introduce him slowly, make it positive. Stay w/ him when he's first in so he isn't scared. AND - show him OVER and OVER and OVER how/where to get out of the pool (in case he should ever be out there alone and fall in).

| Lucy and Tucker have a raft. Lucy loves to jump in and get wet when she's really hot (which is most of the time), but she cannot get back on the raft herself. Tucker is scared of water and prefers to not even get in. He is apprehensive on the raft with Lucy, because she's very erratic on it.... pacing all over and rocking the boat, so to speak. She's tipped him in more than once. We call her Captain Lucy. They can swim, but tire easily and I never ever leave them alone. Our deck has a gate that I keep closed at all times unless I'm there. I saw the life vests at PetSmart, the Pet Saver brand was $16.99 and they had an XSmall. The Pet Edge catalog has them for 7 or 8$ but there's a minimum order of $65 and an upcharge for not meeting the minimum. We'll probably order them from there, as they have so much other cute stuff. There is also something called a Scamper Ramp which you attach to the pool edge and it gives them traction to get out of the water. I don't know exactly how it attaches with different kinds of pools, but it looks pretty neat. The chlorine doesn't seem to bother the dogs, but Tucker's hair is longer and it tends to tangle up more anyway, and so I'm not sure I can really blame the chlorine altogether. Teresa |
