Love the pics! I would love to take Benji and Chico out in the future.....but what do you do when they have to go potty? I know it's a weird question but I don't see how such a tiny dog could hold it so long. Did you put pee-pads in her crate? Sorry for the silly question but I really have never understood how people can take along their furbabies without pit-stops. Thanks in advance!

oh...we had plenty of pit stops. we stopped on the little islands and swam and stuff. she walked around off the boat quite a bit. we also stopped for gas and for the human folk to go potty

nope...she did great. i was very proud of her. but she is pretty well potty trained (with the exception of accidents at petsmart and the vet).

Lucky you! Do you think I should I wait until Benji is completely potty trained before taking him out? Or should I start him early and try this summer (or anytime after, I do live in FL so there is no rush LOL)?

i really don't know. i mean...does he do ok with his pottying? we made lots of stops so we were on/near land quite a bit and she was able to go to the bathroom a lot. i would say that if you take him out, be sure to stop as much as possible to let him do his business. and if he is crate trained, take his travel crate. this way he can get rest when he needs it.

Those pics are sooo cute, it looks like you all had fun! A friend of ours has a boat, and we usually spend alot of time on it in the summer. I haven't gone out on it yet this year because I'm afraid to take Jake, and I don't want to leave him all day. It took him a little while to get used to the car, but he loves riding in it now. We started taking him more places than the vet, so he likes going everywhere now. I worry about sea sickness, but I think it would be fun to take him.

He does ok, but that is because I know his routine and am able to stay home and monitor him (I am a college student and am on Summer vaca right now). We haven't had any problems so far with him having "accidents" in his crate at night which is a good sign. I'll just wait until he is older and has more control over his bladder during the day.
