| miss you much Xander No he didnt pass on, but we said goodbye to Xander on Monday. It was really hard to let him go, after all I loved and snuggled on him for over a month now. It took some searching but found him a good home. A young couple that seems to have all the right intensions and will spoil him to death. I knew it would be hard, I just didnt expect to be like ripping out my heart and handing it to someone. I know I did the right thing for him because she will love him as much as I would. I also made sure they were well prepared for the experiance of a yorkie. hehehe I just hope she will poke her head in around here before long because you all are so helpful. Bridget and I thank you for your help and support.

| Sounds like your heart is filled with emotions and I feel for you...It is wonderful how you know that you did the right thing for you and Xander no matter how sad it might make you feel at times. Xander was given to you for a little time for a reason and there is a blessing in that - you have been his little angel to find him a great home to be spoiled and loved in. Bless your heart!

| I think I've missed something. Why did you have to get rid of Xander?

| Xander was given to me from my mentor as a potential show dog. Unfortunatly he started growing extreamly fast, so much in fact that when I took him to the vet last week he was up to 3.4 lbs. Now before I get jumped on I had made a deal with my mentor, xander for a female pup later, no matter the outcome. But from the looks of it he was not going to be within breed standard and so therefore not the proper yorkie for me to breed or show. I had to make a choice and I still have to return a female pup. Without him being show quality left me in a bad spot. I would love to have kept him as a pet, but due to six kids and 3 dog, 2 cats finacially we could not keep a 4th dog long term. So after discussing with my mentor and much pushing we decided to sell him. I will be using the money to purchase another male later. Now please understand 1. he was supposed to be acceptable to show 2. I have an debt I have to repay for him 3. I planned on showing and breeding but having a male out of standards would not be ideal. (actully I think knowing I am breeding out of standard would be irresponsible) 4. I know I could not afford to keep him and another male along with all my other pets. So in the end we decided to sell him as a pet with a neuter contract. We knew as a puppy he would have a better chance of getting a good home. I advertised him locally and put prospective buyers through the ringer so to speak. After having a few people compleatly unsuitable for him I found his new mommy. I know she wil love him as much as I did. I would have loved to keep him but that wasnt to be. I actully think I shocked her with all I sent with him...lol his blankie, toys, food, potty pads, favorite treats, nutrical, outfit, basically everything I bought for him I guess and a whole list of stuff she needed to know just about him. I do miss him a lot, but I know he will be spoiled rotten. Funny thing to I knew for the last few weeks this was comming, but it just didnt hit until he was going. Maybe I just thought somehow a miracle would have happened and we could have kept him. unfortuanty not, but I am satisfied that I found him a wonderful new mommy, and hope that he will be happy for years to come.

| I understand just how much you are missing him but it sounds like you found him a wonderful home. He is such a special boy I am sure he has his new mommy wrapped around his paw already. I am sure he will be really happy in his new home but will always hold a special place in his heart for you.

| I'm sorry you're feeling sad, but glad that you found him a good home where he'll be happy! Hugs to you...though it wasn't easy, you did what was best! All the things you sent with him should make his move easier as he'll have familiar things around him while adjusting to his new home! |

| Bless your heart! It's hard to have to let one go and it doesn't take long to love one. Everytime we find a home for a stray it breaks my heart to let them go, each one is special and I would keep them all but I can't and I know it. It's always best to find the perfect home than try to keep a dog you know you shouldn't. Rest easy and know you have done a great thing! Windy |

| Oh Marlee, you sound like you feel so guilty. Please don't! You've provided a good home for Xander, that is the most important thing! What you did was very unselfish and loving. He will be so happy with his new family and he can thank you for that! No one should judge the desicion you made, you did what was best for Xander and for your family! You have a right to "mourn" him and miss having him around. I'm glad he had you to help him find his forever family.

| I know you are sad & missing Xander, but just think how you blessed the other family! You have changed their lives (for the better) forever!! Now there is another family out there that will be able to get the joy that the rest of us do from our Yorkies!! Feel better soon & good luck with what's to come!!

| I can't imagine how much it must hurt to have to "give up" xander. But you shouldn't feel quilty, you should feel proud because unlike a lot of people you made sure he found the right home and owners that would spoil him more than you can imagine. There have been some other members on here that have had to give up their babies but they have all (including you) been extremley responsible in finding them good homes. So many people gets dogs or cats and are unprepared for them and instead of taking the time to find that animal a good home they dump them in the street or take them to a shelter. I think what you did was very responsible and the right thing to do and for that I give you |
