| Watch this puppy mill dog auction!!! Do you know about puppy mills? If you don't -- and even if you do -- then you've got to watch this undercover video: http://humanesociety.org/stoppuppymills Puppy mills are large scale operations that force breeder dogs to produce litter after litter to support consumer demand for puppies. Puppies sold in pet stores or through Internet sites come from places filled with suffering, disease, malnutrition, and loneliness. Even the puppies themselves are often prone to a variety of diseases. Some die within days or weeks of purchase. The Humane Society of the United States is working to stop puppy mills and they need your help. Please watch this short video that exposes the cruelty of puppy mill dog auctions. Then, you can take action by pledging to stop supporting the retailers that perpetuate cruel breeding practices. Click here: http://humanesociety.org/stoppuppymills If you want to take action and stop puppy mills then go to the website and click on the "WHAT YOU CAN DO" button and then click on "6. Lobby for Better Laws" and that will take you to a page where you can write a short message to your state representative and tell them you want puppy mills to stop and that is an important issue to you. Thanks for taking action and with your help in spreading the awareness puppy mills will soon be a thing of the past! |

| That is sad. Not lumping them all into one category but many Amish people run puppy mills. The dogs are nothing more than livestock to them.

| Sad So sad. I really wish more people would educate themselves on pet shop puppies and puppy mills. I get mad everytime I walk by the Puppy Store in our mall. Makes me sick - wish it would get shut down for good

i live in N. Cal and I have not seen a pet store with dogs for sale in a long time and I bet it is because they were all run out of town. Hey, call your local humane society and talk to them about it, I bet they will help you shut them down.

| My Lilly's dog mum and dad were rescued out of a puppy mill and that's how I ended up with her. Their previous owner kept them in cages in a cellar without daylight and on a hard concrete floor ... Thankfully she is in prison now. I spent months researching the breed because let's face it Yorkie's are just too darling! But was afraid to buy a pure bread puppy due to the "big" business they are. When I heard about these rescued dogs and their puppies I went to see how they were being kept. It was bliss, I could see that the dogs were the centre of attention and had a huge garden to play in and lots of love. I think that's why my Lilly is so well adjusted... and I can sleep well at night knowing I've not supported such a horrible industry. One breeder I contacted just wanted to ship the puppy to me from France and got angry with me because I didn't feel comfortable with that... called me a time waster and said that I had no reason to feel uncomfortable... she also never answered the question on how she raised her dogs and the picture she sent of the mother dog... well she just looked old tired and sad... |

Well you know what after i bought skoshi and talked to his breeder later on i called him and she was at a dog auction when i called and i could hear dogs barking and lots of people. I didnt know what it was. But i guess thats where she gets their parents from. Sad! but her house doesnt look like a puppy mill. |

I think you should report this woman so they can at least investigate her and check out the dogs and see if they are ok. Did you ever see the parents of the puppies? Most breeders have nice houses because they get so much money from using up these poor dogs, and they keep all the dogs in the basement or garage or shack out back. it is very important not only to see the parents to see if they look healthy and well taken care of but to also see the living conditions. dont be afraid to ask if they are caged or have run or the house. you have a right to know who you are supporting.

| that is really heart breaking. how can someone think of a dog as a money-making machine? I am absolutely disgusted! I told myself I would never support a puppy mill but I did. Just this past weekend. My son and i went to a flea market in NW Houston and he saw this white beautiful 9 week old chihuahua that was starving for attention and asked me if he could help the dog. With my weak heart, I said yes and we bargained the price from $250 to $200. |
