| I'm a big baseball fan, so I named mine after our baseball field, which is called "Jacobs Field"....but, everyone calls it "the Jake" for short. So, I named my yorkie "Jake". Good luck finding the right name. I know it sometimes takes time to decide. |

I think that when you come across that special name you will know that is the name to go with! You won't think any other name will do! Good luck! | |

| Donating YT 11K Club Member | Well when I got my first yorkie he looked like an absolute Teddy Bear so that's why I named him Teddy. And he was all cudly and cute. Then when I got my female I already had London picked out for her cause she looked so delicate and dainty in pictures and when i met her she really was like that, real feminine and girly so I stuck with that name and i still love it

| I somehow got into the alcoholic theme with dog names, First there was tequilla ( the chihuahua) then Brandy ( long-coated chihuahua) and Tia (think Tia maria's) my shih tzu/maltese cross. Now I did try and break away from this trend , I had wanted to name the new pup Abbie but everyone hated that name.. ( hey..I know ..I thought Abbie was a great name too!!) SOOoo going down my list of alternate names.,all of which got shot down ,Remy ( Remy-Martin) was the last name on the list and go figure that was the one everyone liked. SIGH! I guess Im stuck in this trend for awhile longer...but I did try (man!... I still think Abbie was a great name! ) Eileen |

| We had originally named are dog PJ. To make a long story short, we bought are dog for my son. He was on foot, and ran over by some idiot, that hit him and just kept going. My son had a very long recovery. We got PJ when my son was learning to walk with a walker. He and his girlfriend went walking down the hall, and PJ would not move from in front of my son, so his girlfriend would take her foot and gently push him forward. She came running in the kitchen and said lets call hin Scooter, when I push him he just scoots along. So he is now Scooter, which I call him Scooter bug. Kay |

| YT 2000 Club Member | We are from Sandusky, Ohio. I'm lucky that Derek Jeter has a " No Trade" clause in his contract with the Yankees! I found a little #2 Yankee jersey that I am so getting Jeter when I get him! I was glad for my hubby this season, the Indians are on FIRE! Yankees are my Fave team but I rout for the Indians as long as we are not playing each other! ( Have to support the Hubby!) Where in Ohio are you located? |

| I searched lists of names. First, I tried to go with words from various languages that related to yorkie traits, but that didn't work for me. I just kept looking. Every time I saw a name I liked, I jotted it down. I asked people what they thought of this name or that. Finally, I just settled on Gizmo for him. It just seemed to fit him. (I knew him before I named him since I was visiting the breeder once a week for several weeks.) The interesting thing about his name is that AFTER I got him and researched the pedigrees of his parents is that at least four of his male ancestors were Gizmos. I thought that was pretty cool! So, you might want to look at the pedigree and consider a variation of a family name.

| I've always loved Anna Nicole Smith and her recent passing upset me and my mother, also a fan. I thought her life should be celebrated, not her death, so I named my dog, Vickie Lynne, Anna Nicole Smith's birth name. |

| I liked a name "Chibimaru" because of a character in the Sanrio. http://blog.sanriotown.com/blog/2007...and-chibimaru/ Chibimaru means "small and round" just like my little boy! I picked the name before I found the little boy.

| Piper got her name after hubby thought her colors were the same as the sandpipers down here. She scurried around like them also. Max, hubby named again, Maximillion. He said after having 3, he's gonna cost us a Million.
