| Will the Coloring and Coat ever change??? I know there are so many people on here with years and years of experiance with the Yorkshire Terrier breed so Im hoping I can get some good answers... Anyway, Bailey is almost 8 months now and she still hasnt turned color. Shes Gold and Black I have noticed a FEW little greyish hairs comming up from the top of her head and a few on her chest but not many at all. Her coat is getting longer I would say its between 2 - 2 1/2 inches long on her back. I would say her coat is either cottony or silky. Bailey is my first yorkie so im not so sure how long the coat takes to change (i have heard it can take up to 2 years) but I see other dogs on here with the steel blue or tan coats and I keep wondering when bailey will look like that or if she ever will. Her parents were VERY silver however her grandparents never changed color (they are still black and gold) Does anyone have an idea of what my girl might look like? I would love to see pictures of some of your babies at around 6-9 mo and then how they look as an adult. I will put some pictures of her up so you can see what she looks like. |

| Bailey is so beautiful!!!...I'm one that prefers the dark coats so for me Bailey's color would be perfect...I don't know much about color change but I don't think she's going to lighten up much more.... This is Jake at close to 6m. & I don't expect him to lighten up a great deal more & I'm fine w/ it...

| I think Bailey is absolutely beautiful! That striking gold is something else...very rare to see in a yorkie. I don't really know anything about coat change, but I can tell you that mine is only 6 mos and he's already almost entirely gray-ish. I'm guessing she'll be darker forever, but I think she's gorgeous. Wanna trade?? Just kidding, I love mine, but her coloring is great IMO.

| My pup, Cash, is almost 5 months and his dark hair is growing out very quickly. His face is turning a very light silver and his body is turning a silver/grey color as well. I don't think your girl is going to change her coat, but she is gorgeous.

| Bailey is gorgeous!!!!! My little girl, Hootie, has been black & gold up until recently. She's 14 months old now and is just now starting to show some grey on her back. My parent's yorkie is 8 years old and she is still changing colors. So, every yorkie is different. |

| All Yorkies seem to be different! Buddy changed up until he was 3yrs. His back went from black to blonde with 2"black roots. His face, legs have remained golden blonde. He is cut down on his back and is all black but you can now see the blonde stating again on the edges. Strange. |

| Uma is 9mo. now and the very dark grey that started coming in 1-2 mo. ago is coming in faster. I think she will be very dark grey, almost charcoal, and a very rich gold. I think.

| Kona and Bailey look very similar. Kona is a year and almost 4 months and she is still black and gold. I love her darker colors. I remember saying to my bf when we got her that I hoped her colors stayed dark, and I think they will!! She also has some grey hairs here and there, but not many.

Also, no one has addressed coat length yet. Is there a way to know how long her hair should grow to? | |

| I love the long coat, but I hear that some dogs can never reach floor length. |
