| JoJo is almost one year and is black and tan. His breeder told me his color would not change. I read something about the texture of the coat and color change. If it is a certain thickness and light can not refract (something like that) it won't change. JoJo has a soft coat with a slight wave and it is thicker than Gucci's who is now all silver at 9 months and all of his black has grown out. Gucci also has a thinner, silkier coat.

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | LOVE her coloring! Is she quite small? I ask bc Marcel (avatar) is very small and he is developing MUCH slower than others. So, your baby's coat may change later than others if she is a "tiny".

| I know that did not answer any questions, but I had to let you know--I think she is gorgeous. My girl Emmy is lighter now, but still has a lot of black on her back. My boy Oscar is more the same like yours--the black and DARK golden/reddish. He is a pretty boy! My daughter also has two yorkies--one of hers is mainly the golden colors with grayish hairs; the girl is mainly still the black with tan face. No matter what colors, YORKIES are BEAUTIFUL DOGS!!!

| Bailey is adorable!! I wouldn't worry about the color. She's a cutie no matter what color she ends up. From what Ive seen, Yorkies can range from black and tan to ending up very light almost blonde so you never know. I heard they change colors after 1 year. Izzy is a mixture of tan, white & grey on his head. His paws and chest are tan but his body is still black with a few strands of grey and he is 10 months.
