| Nutro Brand Dog Food Hi everyone, my dogs used to eat the Nutro Lamb and Rice food. When the recall happened I was scared to death because some of Nutro's products were effected. Well we had a big bag of the food and all three of my dogs had been eating it for some time, so I figured it must be safe since nothing happened to them at that point. However, I planned to switch after the bag was empty. Well, a few weeks ago I decided to throw out the food and start them on Canidae. Trixie went to the vet about a week ago because I found blood in her urine. The vet said she had an urinary tract infection and gave us medicine and she has to go back in a couple weeks to be checked again. Well, my cousin feeds her dog Nutro Lamb and Rice and went to get a new bag and couldn't find it anywhere in the store. She asked the owner and the lady told her that Nutro Lamb and Rice and a few other hard foods of theirs should have been taken off the shelves months ago. Nutro failed to report on some of their foods even when they knew they were bad. I have no idea if this information is true or not but the owner claimed she found this out and took the food off the shelves herself. She said numerous customers had been calling the store and complaining about their dogs having urinary tract infections and a few other things. She said Nutro is still claiming that their food is safe. I have no idea if Nutro is ok or not but I do know Trixie, my cousin's dog and my friend Cassie's dog have all had urinary tract infections in the past few months. Actually my friend Cassie's dog has now had three. I truly hope this is some type of misunderstanding because I know many on here feed this food to their dogs. However, so many having these urinary tract infections really makes me wonder. I'm not trying to scare anyone but I think this definately needs to be known. I hope and pray everyone's babies are ok.

| I feed my dogs Nutro Max and have not had a problem. I buy my food at the feed store because it's so much cheaper than a pet store and I did inquire when I bought the last bag about the recall. They said it was not on the list. But, they could have been uninformed. I'm still feeding it with no problem. Hope your babies are okay. |

| Nutro Small Bites...now Canidae I was feeding my yorkies Nutro Small Bites when the recall came. I immediately switched to Royal Canin again as that was what they had been on for a long time. I could not stand the thought of giving dry food of a brand that had had any recall. I then investigated Canidae as my Alyssa has a lot of food allergies. We went with Canidae which I found locally. It was about 2/3 the cost and my girls both love it. Within a week Alyssa's energy level had increased tremendously. Her fur was shiny and my girls even fought over their food. Heaven only knows that there is enough Canidae in a bag for them to have all the food they want. I don't know why they would fight over food. My point is...I am totally satisfied with Canidae. I switched the girls cold turnkey to the new food. They have had no problems at all. I do not regret giving up the corn in Royal Canin. I think that is what was causing her allergies. She has stopped scratching and is one healthy yorkie. |

Hi, I'm so glad you like the Canidae too. I switched mine cold turkey also and had no problems either. I'm so glad you mentioned about the itching. My pekingese hasn't been itching nearly as bad since starting him on this food. Right now is the worse time of the year for him and he's been doing wonderful. He's 12 and I've also noticed his energy level is up. I'm not trying to be gross here but I've also noticed that all three of my babies poo isn't as stinky, LOL! On Nutro it was terrible and they seemed to always be pooping. Now its way more normal. I only wish I would have started them on this food long ago.

| I have been feeding my 2 Nutro Lamb & Rice small bites for quite awhile. They love it. I gave them some samples of other foods & they wouldn't eat them. So now I'm worried. They seem to be ok so far. What signs should I watch out for a UTI?

| I switched Keelys food to the Nutro Lamb and Rice Puppy bites and I've had no problems. When I bought it a representive from the dog food company was there and she said that only their canned and some treats were recalled. Not their dry food. She guaranteed me that the dry food was alright. Keely loves it. She has so much energy, her coat is really nice and I haven't had any problems at all. She's been eatting this for the last 2 months and I really like it.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | We feed the Nutro Natural Choice Small Bites. Have not had any problems at all and the kiddos love it. Hopefully, it was just some strange coincidence since only one of your dogs got it.

| Hi everyone, I'm sorry if I scared any of you about your food but I felt I needed to let everyone know what I was told. I truly hope this food is ok because I fed it to my dogs for a long time. Again, sorry if I scared anyone.
