| Skin rash turned brown? I have a question. Luna had, had a tiny little rash around her belly for about a week before we were able to take her to the vet. When the vet saw her she said that it could be ring worm or just a rash (as in an allergic reaction to something that touched her skin). So she prescribed her a cream which we were to put twice a day. The rash went away, but now I've noticed that, that same little rash area is brown. I'm not sure if that's just a coincidence that she is spotted there now, because I do see that she has brown patches on the roof of her mouth, thought maybe it was part of her pigmentation. I'm just curious to know if any of you have seen this type of rash on your dogs or know of anything similar. Either way, I will ask the vet on friday when she goes for her check up. Thank you all!

| When Otis gets a flea bite or scratches a little too hard, the skin turns red, and then patchy brown. But after a bath, the dead skin comes off and there's soft new skiin where the scar used to be. Just give it another week and keep an eye on it. It might be just part of the healing process. I just looked at the roof of Otis's mouth, and it's all one color. I don't know about any brown patches, but like you said, it could be part of her pigmentation. |

| Toby has brown patches on the top of his mouth also. When I took him to the vet for a check up I asked her about it and she said that it was perfectly normal for a dog to have dark spots in their mouths. She said it is seen more commonly in pure breds than not. So, it's nothing to worry about. Being a first time mom of a furbaby I really worry about the smallest things so he is constantly at the vet! |

| Thanks! I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has experienced something similar. My father insist that I put some of her cream on the brown patchbut I am afraid it will reverse the affect. I rather just wait till Friday's Vet visit and ask, unless it gets any worse before then. I'm giving her a bath on wednesday so I'll see then if it comes off when I scrub her a bit.

| Mojo had a little skin irritation in his head that was caused by a fungus. There was a little spot where the hair actually fell off and after a couple days later the skin was brownish too. Mojo was on medication for that though..he had to take some pills and i had to rub a lotion on the spot for 7 days..my vet said it's kind of common those things happening here in Miami because of the humidity. Hope it goes away with the bath |
