| I love his ears! =) I have no idea if he's purebred or not but he's very cute and it's possible that he just got a couple of recessive traits that combine to make him look different. Since he didn't have kennel club papers did you maybe pay a little less anyway? Are you upset about the price? If that's what's bothering you you should definitely talk to the breeder...if not he's so cute- who cares! And again I absolutely love his ears =) |

| I am by no means any kind of expert on the topic, but my first 2 impressionswhen I saw the picture you posted were: 1. Those are big ears! (very cute!) 2. That is a long snout! (what a sweet smile!) And then I thought to myself that these to features seem prominent because his hair is short. When I give Tia a bath and her facial hair is "flat" she too has big ears and a longish snout. Maybe when his hair grows out quite a bit and if you have a groomer that can give him a good trim (almost like a Westie) he'll have more of a Yorkie "look". I can't really see his body (a profile pic might be helpful to otehrs who are good at identifying breeds). If you're willing to pay, I have heard of DNA testing for dogs that will determine mix of breeds. I agree with the others...definetly bring it up with the breeder, at least the breeder will know that you suspect something. BTW, I think Paddington is the cutest name!

| Thank you all! I am by no means angry that I may not have a purebred. I would not trade him for a dog with the best of champion lines. I bought him because I saw his little face and absolutely fell in love. What I am angry about is that someone felt the need to take advantage of me (which they didn't; I would have paid twice as much even if they said "he is part yorkie and part xyz") and that they are continuing to sell dogs to people under this lie. I am also concerned that if he is a mixed breed, he may need to be cared for differently. I know different breeds are prone to different health problems, and I'd like to know what I should be careful of. That is my biggest concern! A lot of you mentioned his adorable ears, and I just have to comment that the ears are what got my heartstrings first! I love the way one of them flops over and the other stands upright when he is trying to pay attention!!! -O

| Hey the way I see it is whether he is 100% yorkie or only 25% yorkie he is still a Yorkie!!! A VERY CUTE one at that! Plus you never know when a trait way back in the gene pool is going to pop up! Just look at him as a red head from to blond parents! It happens all the time!

| he looks adorable. I understand what you mean about being lied to and all the scams going on out there. Pedigrees can be fake no matter what. A friend of mine bought a yorkie and was lied to about registration papers so she never got the papers. In the end, she wanted to breed her male yorkie with another female yorkie who is reg. with AKC. She then asked me to 'borrow' my reg. papers just so she can sell the pups at a high priced. I refused and she was upset with me but I didn't care about that. So faking pedigrees or perhaps registration is possible. BAD breeders sometimes buy dogs that are not registered and use that dog to breed but use another dog's registration to register the pups. |

| I know breeders that will get pups from the pound that look similar to their breed to replace lost pups! But looking at your baby it looks like his beard needs to get a little fuller and his ears need to grow some more hair, otherwise he looks like my babies when they are wet! How old is he?
