YT 500 Club Member | Oh No, She killed a baby bird!!! When I got home from work today, my husband was really upset. Seems that he let our little Sophie out, and she ran straight to the fence and grabbed a baby bird. By the time he was able to grab her, the bird was screaming for its life, but he couldn't get her mouth open. Finally, she dropped it, but it was dead. He buried it, and now he is really sad. It was an ugly black bird, but we do have some very pretty birds around too. I don't like this time of year. We have to be so careful. This is her third baby bird!!!

| I know how you guys feel. I had a pair of parakettes( Sky and Snowflake). When i got home one day i came upon a murder scence . aparently my husband forgot to close the bird cage when he left for work and Snowflake got out, he would like to follow him and sit on his shoulder. I saw blood on the floor and Snuggles had that guilty look on her face. I saw a wing on her bed and feathers all over the place. I was a wreck because i loved my birdie and my own baby killed it. I also knew she liked to chew stuff on my side of the bed so i went straight into my room and found other peices of the bird. I couldnt even look at snuggles the rest of the day. I accepted her apology when she came the next day trying to lick my face.

| That´s just awful, but you have to remember the yorkshire terrier were hunting dogs. Logically it still and instinct and well the go back to their old roots. coli love to hunt lizards and anything that moves, but I have a bird and he doesn´t go near it, because he knows its off limits. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I know it sounds bad but it's big fun to catch a birdie and what they're bred to do - mine have each caught one ...not to kill it as much as just to catch it. I think the birds died of fright but my girls were so proud ! |

| I feel your pain, Autumn got a baby bird about three weeks ago - she was so proud of herself and wanted to give me kisses. She is still trying to catch them! |
