| I have some ??s can you help? So I wondered what is "the right" amount to feed of some things. First is yogurt...how much should I offer? And do you guys mix it with something else, or give it alone? So far, Gemma cleans the plate, but the others aren't interested. And cottage cheese, same questions? Also, someone suggested Liverwurst is better than baby hotdogs. I have to use baby hotdogs to entice them to eat sometimes - but I recently tried the liverwurst and they love it just the same - maybe more!! How much of this can I give them? And do you use it just as a treat? Oh and someone said sugar water...how much sugar to how much water do you put out for them?? I am finding that they get bored with the food I feed!! Brats....I constantly have to change up what I offer them, dry kibble included!! They will LOVE it at first, then not touch it. Soon as I put down something they haven't had in a while, yummy! Same with the chicken/rice. Sometimes they gobble it down, the next day, they put their noses up. Same with scrambled eggs or anything else....do yours do this? Thanks for your help! Trina

Layla gets about a tsp, maybe a bit more of yogurt a day.. and in it she gets vitamin E and she gets about the same of cottage cheese Layla doesn't usually turn her nose up at her food.. but she is usually hungry when i feed her... she has never been interested in food in the morning (she isn't a morning person... we get up and she goes right back to bed!) so around 11 she gets her yogurt, and around 1 her cottage cheese and it isn't until 3ish that she is at all interested in her food (i home cook) and even then i HAVE to put shredded cheddar cheese on top for her to eat it.. wont' even look at it if the cheese isn't there!!! with homecooking i try and give her a variety to keep her intetesred... last month was beef and oatmeal and carrotts... this coming month will be chicken, brown rice, split peas and mixed veggies... i cooked that batch up yesterday and gave her a try of it.. did'nt even need the cheese! it hink she was excited about the change of food! | |

| We give about a tsp or more of Stonyfield nonfat or lowfat organic yogurt everyday. It has the most live active cultures. It has prebiotics and probiotics which are really good for them. If they don't like yogurt, you can always add something to it that will make it more appealing. For example, sometimes I mix in several small pieces of peeled green apple or watermelon. Same with the cottage cheese. As far as the sugar water...We never did sugar water, but when Miko was a pup and had hypoglycemia, we would add a tsp of honey to his bowl of water. This really helped out with the hypoglycemia. Regarding pickiness, yes, they get picky and decide that they want a change in diet. Mine get bored with the same food everytime. We homecook also, so we change the recipes up. I make enough for two weeks at a time, so every two weeks, their diet changes. They love this system that I have going. We don't give liverwurst, so I'm not sure about that. If you're wanting to add supplements to their diets, I highly recommend Dr. Pitcairn's book. It has all the info you need to start homecooking long-term for your babies.

| My girls get about a tablespoon of Stoneyfield Organic yogurt mixed with their Missing Link for breakfast. They like both the plain and the vanilla. You can always mix in some small pieces of fruit as well. They don't like cottage cheese, so we don't use that and I have idea on the liverwurst!!

| My lil one "Izzie" who is just about 4 months old gets just plain ole Eucanaba puppy food 1/3 cup a day....I do however give her cherrios(6-8) or green apple bits (1-4) during the day as good girl treats.....I kinda watch and see how her stools are to determine if they are dry or not and adjust the cheerios/apples accordingly......I would love to add a bit more variety to her diet as age/weight permits....I have been giving yorkie yummies as treats also...and she loves those which I received a sample from Chattiesmom....I have ordered more from her and waiting to receive them.

| Sukoshi's mom, I agree with you I NEVER let my dogs eat leftovers and I never let my dogs beg. Yes, they get homecooked meals, but not while we're eating. My husband and I made it very clear to everyone in our families that noone is to feed our babies scraps or anything from the table because we did not want any beggars and leftovers many times are high in sodium and have lots of spices and things which are not good for dogs. We don't want any cases of pancreatitis.

| Wobie gets either a teaspon of yogurt or cottage cheese every day (he loves both) mixed with his missing link. He's only a puppy, thats why I don't give a whole tablespoon.
