| Ears standing up...? Some one told me my babys ears are supposed to be standing up and pointed... but his ears just seem to big for all of that... Are they eventually supposed to do that on their own is it something like pitbulls where you have to get them clipped? Just curious. |

| Yorkies dont get their ears clipped but you can shave them and tape them to try to get them to stand

| maggies were completely floppy but i taped them for a couple of days and they are up now. i didn't think it was possible! but they are up! they did flop during teething but went back up. do a search on here for "ears" and you will find some great methods for taping...if you want them to stand. it is painless and the dogs don't seem to mind it at all. it is "standard" for them to stand but if you aren't worried about it, then it is up to you. don't let other people judge your dog...do what you want i personally liked it when maggies were half up and half down. one of her ears will sometimes sag a little and i think it is so cute. but again...it is your preference.

| Ears straight up! Hi, I just taped Judsons ears using blue painters tape. I did them the same way that I did Lucinda's and it works perfectly. He is 17 weeks old and it worked after only 24 hours. i took the tape off a few minutes ago and his ears are straight up. ( I had Petsmart trim them first and they know how to do it.) You can see a picture of him with them taped if you check my posts from yesterday. Here is the web site that tells how to do it. http://www.yorkie.org/dogs/grooming_yorkies.html Pauline |

| There are a lot of people with yorkies with floppy ears, and it is adorable! So if you don't want to go through the ear taping process, you could just let them do what they will.

| Hi there, My babies ears didn't go up. We taped them several times, and they would flop back down. I think she is very adorable, so have decided to let it go. My hubby wants to tape again, I think I talked him out of it. Let her be who she is Now if we were to show her, I think she wouldn't qualify without perky ears?? Not sure......not even going that route. She's just my beautiful little baby, won't have a job!!! |

| There's nothing wrong with your puppy, try taping them after they're shaved if you want them up, I heard massaging the ears can help strengthen them also. I had one yorkie with floppy ears and he was a very beautiful dog. Now Winston's stood up from the get-go, no taping was required, and I think he is a very cute dog. So either way it's a win-win situation. They must stand erect to show them, because that is the standard.

| Koda's ears were down when I got him. I taped them a couple of days ago and after only 24 hours his one ear stands perfectly. we just retaped his other on last night and am going to leave it till tomorrow evening. Hopefully it works, he looks like a little ewolk with them half up, lol! Either way your pup will be adorable |
