| Texas is horrible for heat even with the a/c on - I have linoleum and sabrina moves from spot to spot on the cool floor. My parents have wall to wall carpeting so they put down a couple of cookie sheets and their yorkie moves from one to other of those to cool off or gets on their tile top coffee table! For upset tummy - I break up a peppermint - those red and white ones - and make Sabrina eat about 1/4 of one. She's usually eating again in about 30 minutes. Sometimes they just get their tummy too empty I think. |

| I wanted to take Mocha to my softball game yesterday but I decided against it.. I took her to my parents pool and we were only out for 40 mins but she looked really hot.. I keep her in my living room with the fan or AC on during the day and a bottle of cold water in her crate!!I know you aren't susposed to give them water during the day but with the heat, i feel she needs it!!

| Just because of all that hair I make sure my babies are cool. If Autumn doesn't eat she will vomit up yellow fluid, it is stomach bile. She likes to go byebye with me and she will vomit if I don't get her something to eat. It's not like I can tell her "Go get something to eat, we are going to leave." Well, I guess I could but she wouldn't understand me. LOL Sylvia |

| I can tell ya how the critters handle the heat in Texas, so maybe it will help you in New York. Texas animals of all kinds, are active in the morning, until about 10, then it's naptime the rest of the day until about 7. You won't hardly see any animals out during the day, when it's hot. Even going down the road, the cattle are all hugging the same mesquite tree. Dogs sweat through their bellies and pads on their feet. They cool themselves through their tongues. Our dogs like to sprawl belly down on the tile, or walk through their splash pool. I will even put a few ice cubes in their water to help with their built in air conditioner. If you can keep your activities with your babies to in the morning or late afternoon, you will see how much better they feel. Hope this hot, windy advice will help.
