as soon as our location is set in stone (just waiting to hear from a few hotels) i'll start a thread for those of you who would like to car pool (sounds like SO much fun!!!) and you can get in contact with eachother that way!

I live in Georgia about 1/2 way between Atlanta, GA and Chattanooga, TN -- I would LOVE to meet up with some fellow YTers and carpool and or caravan!

i hope to have my baby so i can go i think i may fly but can someone pick me and baby up from airport if someone else is flying we can share a car rental

Yes - we are in some negotiations with hotels on the Country Club Plaza (KCM) where there is tons of stuff walkable throughout the Plaza. At least 1/2 the Plaza stores are dog friendly and it looks like we might have a couple places for tours that will allow our babies as well (keep your fingers crossed). At this point, our hotel negotiations are such where we would hold the meet-up/vendors/activities right at the hotel. The price for a shuttle from the airport isn't bad and there are many of us seriously considering carpooling/road tripping!!! Just think of what an adventure we will all have!!!!!

oh wonderful to hear that the venue for the event is the same as where the hotel is . . .this means no need to be driving around:thumbup: That should save everyone, including myself a car rental since I am flying in . . .Jodie, can we share a room again? Are you bringing both babies of just Sissy. Tiger will have to stay behind again but it seems Daddy is loving his company even more ever since my trip to MI (they have BONDED so well why we were gone :thumbup: ).

Well, my husband just got home and talked to him about it. YEEEE HEEEE! He said we could probably go!!!! This sounds so very exciting, I can't wait!

LOL! We're working full time on finding a hotel that will allow us and dog-friendly activities in the area right now - I don't think a month has even been mentioned yet! I know for my purposes of talking to various museums and such in the area, I'm just telling them it will be "summer of 2008". I'm glad everyone is so excited about this! It makes me feel like all my phone calls will not be in vain!

We're still working on all that, but at this point, we're leaning towards the "main event" being on Saturday, with vendors (hopefully YT vendors as well as non-YT vendors), possibly a speaker/presentation, maybe a dinner, etc., and then "other" activities on Sunday, depending on what we can work out with the local attractions. I would think it a possibility to maybe do something on Friday night too, for those of us who arrive early - just an informal gathering within the hotel or dinner on the Plaza maybe. It really all depends on what we can get worked out with the hotel and surrounding area.

I offered to help since I grew up in KC and lived there for 24 years before moving to CA 2.5 years ago, and I'm having fun thinking of the various activities there that I could share with my YT family, but I keep getting rejected :eek: :eek: ! Really...everyone "loves Yorkies" (or that's what they tell me), but they won't allow them in their facility. I'm working on 2 really exciting options right now though (well...hopefully you guys will be as excited as I am), and I'm hoping those work out :xfingers: :xfingers: . I've also contacted a couple possible vendors in the area, so I'm hoping something works out. I'm pleading my best case to these people!

One question while I have you guys though - one "trade-off" I've offered if we can get a museum in the area to allow us inside with our dogs is that if they would allow us in, we could require all dogs be in strollers or carriers, to ensure there will be no accidents on their floor. How do you guys feel about that? Do most people have carriers or strollers for their babies (obviously the stroller could be difficult to get to KC for those that are flying) that they wouldn't mind keeping them in while touring a museum, or would you opt out of going to the museum if that was the stipulation? The other option that seems most promising is outside, so it shouldn't be a problem there. I'd love to have your feedback.

Oh, and Sukoshi is SO excited to meet Tiger and Annika too! She told me just last night as she was trying on one of her Go.Fetch dresses!

I would really love to go, however driving 11 hours with 5 furbabies might be a bit much. I talked with my sister-in-law she is interested; she owns a precious furbaby from one of my litters, and she also reads the forums but hasn't joined YT yet. I just don't know about bringing all five of my furbabies; and it would be difficult only picking 2 or 3 to come along. So as it stands right now, I am undecided.

i wish i knew you i would help you out or mabe you can find a friend with out a dog that can help example you can do a road trip and your sister can have her dog plus one of yours and you can have 2 and the friend can have 2 one in each hand on a leash . i really wish i knew you in person i would love to come and i could help you i do not have a yorkie at this time im thinking im going to get my baby in 09 so i would help you baby sit if i knew you i know it is hard to trust people you do not know plus not sure if i could come anyway

Hmmmm...I dont' think I could. I don't have a stroller because I'm actually too short myself to be comfortable with it. And in order to get a carrier big enough to hold Sadie, it's way too big for me. And I just can't carry her for very long. (I would be willing to do all of that if I could, but it's just not possible for me)

Maybe a friendly yorkie could share his/her stroller?
