woohoo!!! we are a definate YES!!! I can't wait to see everyone again and to meet more YT people. this is so great!!

do you guys have a month yet? it has to be sometime around summer since a lot of people (my b/f) have school and he definately can't miss school... and I definately can't miss this!

Marci, like I said.. just let me know with w/e you guys need help with.

When looking at nightly accomodations, please consider camp sites for RV's. Much easier than finding a hotel for my 5 babies.... There may be other RV'ers too.

I will look at my books and see what RV park is closeby and maybe all the RV'ers could stay in the same park... HOW FUN would that be!!!!
We have a membership with AOR and can camp in a park for only $3.00 a nite and thats just for the electric and water. SOOOOO whoever ends up comming with us will have NO expenses except for maybe pitching in for some gas... Which I might add is now up to $3.05 here in texas.. And we have a 110 gallon tank..LOL...

It is a posibility that we make it...... a nice RV campground would be a PLUS for us, too.

woo hoo!!! i 've got fam in KCK. and i haven't been in awhile. so i'll say probably yes. but the kids being in school will be a problem.

someone asked about tornadoes...tornado season is in the spring early summer. and its usually in the rural area not so much in the KCK area but thats not to say its never happened:D
and theres more to do on the MO side of KC. unless you go out to Overland Park or further south. i don't know you'll have to look around. KCK is kind of ghetto IMO. so i would look more to Johnson County (Olathe, Lenexa, Shawnee Mission) or KCMO. North KCMO is pretty nice too.

lol i lived in KS for about 5 years and no Tornados dont just pop up lol its not like the wizard of oz lol. its just like anyone can get one when it storms we just need to check the weather forcast for that place that we are going. i was probably in one tornado my whole 5 yrs there.

OMG, OMG :yay_jump: :woof: Count me in as a "Yes". :) I've never been to Kansas either. I'm going to run this by my twin sister and see if she will go with me, cause I know my hubby won't. I'm so.... excited to get to meet everyone. :exclaim: I know I will have to fly so I'm almost sure I won't be bringing Rudy.:( But I will get a pin made up with his cute face on so I can show everyone. :D

Of course I'm in. I hate to fly but I'll do it for you guys...lol I'm taking my daughter with me and he hates hates hates to fly, but she's so excited that she is doing it too. lol

This sounds like so much fun!! Does anyone know what airport you fly into for Kansas City, KS? Would it be the KC, MO airport? I am trying to estimate how much a flight would be from Buffalo, NY.

I can say from living in tornado alley, that dealing with tornados is a lot better now. The technology allows the weather teams to predict where a tornado will be. Once it develops, they follow them with helicopters so that you know where they are. Now it doesn't mean that we never get surprizes.
Once they know where they are you take precautions, either get out of the area or go to a storm shelter. That is why the casualty counts are much lower than ever.

What you see on TV a lot is the damage. The people can get out of the area.

Well, I wish I could come, but it might be a bit too far. I've also promised my family in Nova Scotia that we'd visit next summer. Can't be in two places at once :( (Can't afford two big trips)

We are actually looking at Overland Park!! I totally agree that Johnson county has tons to offer!!!
