I have to say probably no...with 4 kids and 3 furbabies on a 17 hour trip, i would be insane lol...hopefully next time it will be closer to me.... |
well although its a year out...found airfare for around $200 from atlanta to Mo. Now that's not bad and I am sure we can get a good group hotel rate so this is definetly doable for me at this point. Will have to start the YT Kitty !! for travel and shopping!!!:D |
Just a head's up...if you go to www.sidestep.com they search all of the airlines websites/expedia/orbitz/other travel sites for hotels/airfare/rental cars. I use that website EVERY TIME I'm going on vacation. It's awesome! :) I've hung out in Kansas City a few times, even though I just moved to Kansas last summer. Kansas City, Missouri is much nicer than the Kansas City, Kansas side. There's always a good/bad area no matter where you go! Westport is a blast for those of us 20-somethings who are interested in going. The Plaza area is really nice too. |
probably yes! I love to travel and have never been to Kansas City either. I have some friends who lived there a few years and they absolutely love it. I will have to fly (by then would probably be cheaper than driving! not to mention, a couple hour plane ride would probably be less traumatic than a two day car ride IMO) We'll have to see how much vacation time I have saved, and how much $$$ We're planning on taking our christmas break in Hawaii, so we'll have to see!!!! How exciting!!!!   :D -O |

I was undecided when I posted a few days ago. My mind has been made up for me. My husband refuses to drive 9-10 hours to Kansas. If it were to be Chicago, NYC or California then we would be in but I'll pass on this one. |
is there a new thread on this topic??? If not, is it still a go? WE need to keep this at the forefront of YT minds so that it's not forgotten about. You want a HUGE turnout! Something like this was tried a couple of years back but never came to fruition.... Looking forward to it. If at all possible, we will be there. If Lori can drive 3000 miles (rt) to deliver Patticake, I can certainly drive to Kansas City! |
we are definitly still working on this but many people on the committee have a few things going on this month...so we've put it on hold for a bit.. but we soon hope to have a location set in stone and a date |
I am very excited about the meetup. I am making plans -- starting to tuck away $$ so I can cover expenses AND buy lots of neat stuff. I would prefer a central "out of the big city" type location. Some big cities have "small town feel" and I would much prefer one of those. Irregardless of where it is held, if I come I'd be driving -- that leaves Hawaii out for me :lol tears and the thought of driving in NYC is really scary. Maybe if everyone who was seriously planning to come -- could list their city state of residence then it would help determine the area that would fit most people's needs and then a location could be chosen that would accomodate the greatest number of both air travelers and drivers. I would like to thank those of you who have taken it upon yourselves to plan this awesome event. If you need some extra help with the legwork -- I'd be willing to lend a hand..... Put me down for DOOR PRIZES! |
Well that is a 20 hour drive for me and I am not sure how I could do on flying with two babies....BUT....I am thinking here.  I may just have to hit up Rebecca and see if I can swing through Huntsville and pick up her, Hobbs and Hootie on the way. I can stay there over night to break up the trip and than we can drive to Kansas together. HOW MUCH FUN would that be? SO how about it Rebecca???? :D :D M&M long to meet thier YT cousins H&H!! :D :D |
