| I think we should close out this one. Enough said, and tempers are flairing. We are not going to make any difference in what he is going to do. All I know is my Yorkie is my best friend. Wherever I go, so goes Snoodles. If someone doesn't want her, they don't want me. She is the best dog I have ever had. Even my husband who never wanted another dog today said everyone should get a Yorkie--what wonderful dogs they were. I love seeing him pick her up to carry her outside at night. He is 6ft.4 in. and Snoodles is 3#2oz. Gives my heart a burst! Pat |

Stop this? You started this! Oh, its gone to far when I defend my self? So I'm supposed to let some judgemental old bats say whatever they want to me and that's that? You've got the wrong one.

Again, another thoughtless comment. Do you know me? No you do not but again, you want to throw out comments as if you do. Stick to your own business and stay out of mine. Again, if you didn't like this thread, you didn't have to respond! Oh, and check breed standard for your dog. I doubt it would pass!

| I have one of each. My maltese is more difficult, he barks more , is aggressive, grooming a maltese is a major commitment..much more so that grooming a yorkie. Maltese are know for being sweet natured but mine is not...he's a one person dog and is very attached to me but has little to do with others. I think you will find both ends of the spectrum with both breeds. I love Bentley to pieces but I will never get another maltese. The grooming issue alone is what I caution most people about. Those beautiful white faced dogs are very labor intensive..it take a lot of effort to keep them that way and you can not under any circumstance skip a daily brushing..the mats do not brush out like they do in a yorkie.

| On a scale of 1-10 in the grooming difficulty ... a yorkie I would say is a 4 and the maltese is 10 +. My yorkie's coat care is a breeze while the maltese is a major issue...you just wouldn't believe the difference.

| We have both as well, Yorkie male and female maltese. We have had chelsey for one month now and she is a sweet heart. There is a lot of grooming involed but so far I bush her twice a week but again that is because of the shampoo we use. If not I would have to brush her everyday. They are very pron to matting more then yorkies . My first maltese I had to brush her everyday. If I missed it we would have to give her a not so nice trim. "My maltese is more difficult, he barks more , is aggressive, grooming a maltese is a major commitment..much more so that grooming a yorkie. Maltese are know for being sweet natured but mine is not...he's a one person dog" LoL, I think we have the opposite, Chester barks a lot and is very hypper but he is still sweet . The barking drives me up the wall. latly he has been getting a bit better. Maybe because of chelsey who knows. Malese are a lot of work if they run loose in the rain there coat holds a lot more water and you better dry them off quick as well as brush right away or you will have a big problem on your hand with matts. Chelsey is sweet as an angel an does not bark at all or not yet.... cross fingers |

| Okay, no more insults please and since the original question was answered this thread will be closed. No matter who is at fault, let's please try to be civil. There's more important things going on to be bashing any YorkieTalk member at all. Thanks! Last edited by fasteddie; 11-21-2004 at 10:42 PM. |
