| What do you do when it rains? For those of you whose babies are trained to potty outside, what do you do when it rains? It has been raining for 3-4 days here in Houston and it's hard to let Buttercup out to go potty. What I'm doing now is confining him to his room, which he would never pee/poop in and let him out when the rain slows down. But it's been raining nonstop for about 2 hours now and he's in his room crying to get out to potty. What other options are there? |

| I know what you mean. Kobi is mostly trained to go outside (and I want him eventually to be 100 percent that way), but when it rains, I let him go on the pee pads. Maybe you should get a couple for when it's really bad out. Other than that, maybe get him a rain jacket? Not many good ideas from me...sorry...

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | Morgan still goes outside when it rains no matter what. She's learned to hug the house where the rain hits less. She quickly pees and poops and runs right back inside. no problems

| Conner has a covered area where he goes potty - no snow, no rain, no problems.

| I take Lily out on a leash so when it's raining, I just get my boots on and we go out under an umbrella. She's quick and hates her feet getting wet so she usually goes and is ready to come back inside. It's not much fun for us though!

| Here in Germany, we can get light to hard rain all day long, for weeks at a time. SO I got the girls little rain jackets. When it rains, I just stick them in it and put there leash on and out we go. |

| Both mine go outside. At first, when it rained they didn't want to go but (mean ole mom) pushed them out the door and didn't let them in until they peed. It only took a few times before they learnd to go quick and you get back in. So now I just open the door and say "go pee, hurry". Now thunder and lightening are a different story. Bubba would hold it till he burst rather than go out.

| My neighbor loaned me a pee pad and he just won't use it. He was peepad trained when I first got him but never used it again after 4 months of age. I don't have a raincoat for him and I think I just might have to get one now. He did eventually go out to pee but he peed under my covered patio in the backyards and rushed back in the house. I was looking for more options because when it rains, my grass gets nasty and muddy and then he'll get dirty and then that means another bath. Maybe I should get him some doggy shoes/boots to go along with the raincoat. Where can I find the raincoat? |

| We have a concrete covered porch. I got some cheap green outdoor carpet and both of mine will go on the carpet when it is raining hard. If it is just raining a little bit, then they will run out and go under some of our bushes where they don't get rained on so much and go there. It is hard, I know. Rexy will not go in the house, but Rowdy will, so when it is raining, I have to be diligent about taking him out and standing out there with him till he goes. Good luck.

| Thankfully Sadie will use the puppy pads when it's raining. Even if I take her out after it quits, she will absolutely NOT get in the wet grass.

| Well, when Tink has to go, she has to go Right Now! There is no time to put on a rain coat. So, out comes the umbrella! Fortunately there is good grass in the front of my patio so mud isn't a problem. I just take a dishtowel with me when we go out to dry her feet. My Indy used to go the the closet when it was raining and bark for me to get the umbrella. He would not go without it. He'd sit in front of the door til he croaked but he would not get his head wet. Feet? No problem. |
