| Constipated I tried doing a search on this subject because my yorkie seems constipated but every time I search a subject it always says my words were to common.... So I need help with a constipated dog. Can I feed her a stool softerner? Not ex lax but something? Can you help me search for this subject? |

| i have never tried it but i have also heard canned pumpkin works. not the spiced kind, just regular canned pumpkin.....

| Well, low-fat/non-fat yogurt is good for their tummies...Also, make sure the area around the butt is trimmed because many times they can get constipated and backed up due to the fact that it gets stuck on the hair and then can't poop it out.

How old is your dog? If he's not geriatric, most things I've read say the causes are diet and/or exercise related. Increase his level of exercise and examine his diet. As for a quick fix, I too have heard canned pumpkin is good. Probably worth a call to the vet too.

| 1 teaspoon I found on the internet that it is 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoon for dogs under 15 pounds. I gave her 1 teaspoon and almost immediately she went outside and took came of her business. She still isn't regular yet and I am still giving her the pumpkin. |

| The vet made me change her food to Purina One with Salmon because she had that digestive infection and was at the vet for three days about three weeks ago. |
