I think I would take him back to the vet if he is not eating or playing. Have you tried giving him puppy nutrical?

hey so this morning baxter woke up pretty playfull, and he ate every now and then a couple bits ( dry food) things are beginning to look good

oh but someone said that if u can feel there spine when u run ur hands down there back theyre too thin and that happens with with baxter, should i be really concerned?

He sounds too thin, but I'm glad he is eating better. I'd still water down some Nutrical and put it over his dry food. He need the calories, I believe.

tobey would get sluggish at first and not eat well but we got him really early at 8 weeks. now he's 5 months and bounces off the walls. I'd would also try nutrical or if you have some karo syrup on hand, that might also give him some extra sugar and perk him up. let us know what the vet says. how much does he weigh? where did you get him from? could you call the breeder and ask about his behavior before you got him?

You are describing Diesel as a pup. He was VERY shy and withdrawn as a pup. He was not that playful as a pup and didn't eat very well either. I often hand fed him a lot to get him to eat. SOOO needless to say he was spoiled rotten and got held just about all the time.LOL He will be turning 2 soon and he is more playful now than he ever was as a pup. He also LOVES to snuggle! Good luck with you little one.

Riley went through a phase like this when we brought her home. We had a lot of problems getting her to eat and battling hypoglycemia. She had no interest in toys, playing with us, etc. She just wanted to be held and to sleep.

After a month when we finally had her appetite up and nutrition on track, she came alive! She started playing with toys, moving quicker around the house, etc. Now she is a rambunctous little one!!

I think if your baby hasn't been eating enough then it just doesn't have the energy to play. Once you get that on track you should see him perk up.
