Conner shakes and has a firm tummy when he is constipated. I take him for a walk, and that is always the cure. |
I know this isnt something you would want to do. lol.... but,,,,,,,, is there a chance you might call your vet and see if you can get something like a baby suppository at the drug store and just use some of it? maybe she didnt give him enough to do the trick or maybe he is getting an impaction if dogs do that. lol I dont have a clue. if you ask her she can only say Yes OR No. |
Sounds like constipation to me. I'd suggest a walk if it doesn't seem painful to him. |
same thing happens to kikko, when i rub him on his sides he'll whimper a little when he's constipated. usually he'll poop the next day by morning though ... i just let him be and make him a light dinner of rice and a little bit of chicken. hopefully the walk will help! keep us posted! we send hobbs and you lots of hugs and kisses! |
Oh gosh, I hope he has a bowel movement soon!! Poor Hobbs :( |
Hobbs I hope that Hobbs feels better real soon. I am sending prayers and positive thoughts that he poops real soon and feels better. Jay :) |
Well, I just took him on a walk and took him to ALL his favorite pooping spots and he didn't go. I even let him go off leash a little to see if he'd go if he wasn't on a leash. He keeps standing by the door but when I let him out, he just stands in the yard. Ugh....I just wish he'd GO already!!!!! The walk didn't seem painful for him at all. |
Well, we're off to bed! Wish us luck that Hobbs will be all well come morning. I'll let everyone know. Thanks for all your advice, well wishes, and prayers. They are MUCH appreciated. |
I hope he gets to feeling better soon.:( |

Good luck! I hope by the time you wake up, everything will be better. I bet you'll be the happiest you've ever been to see doggy poop! I'm sending my prayers. |
Gracie gets constipated once in a while.....we always do the metamucil and she will go within a couple of hours.........one time i took her to the vet for it and she gave her Laxotene ( it is actually for cats to pass hairballs) one tsp of that and she went like an hour later. We keep it on hand now for ocassions that the metamucil does not help. |
I just came across this thread. Poor Hobbs! Any updates? How is he feeling this morning? Was he able to do his job???? |
