| yorkie biting Our 4 month old yorkie loves to bite our socks & trousers when we walk around. If you have shorts on she jumps up to bite them. She has nylon bones & other chew toys but still likes to bite our socks, trousers & shorts. We say off or make noise withmarbles in a tin can but she then thinks we are playing. Any advise? elcameno |

| Maybe you're not being firm enough? I would assume that if you say "no" or "off" firmly enough, and are consistent with it, she would know you weren't playing. If that doesn't work...I don't know...

| try a squirt bottle.... put plain water in it and put it on stream mode instead of mist. every time she does it, you squirt her and say "off" they figure it out soon enough... especially if they dont like water

| I think we all have such issues, esp with the socks. If I pick up Chloe and not Lacey first, she'll actually rip my pants trying to get up to me, the little stinker. You could try spraying water in the face. The problem is I can't find the bottle when one of mine disobeys. One thing that does help is training them to recognize NO by showing your palms outstretched to them as you say it. I use this when I don't want Chloe barking for table food and when I want to enphasize no means no, not maybe if you keep on I'll give in. Lacey is a little quieter for some reason, probably because she gets her way more, just kidding. Seriously, I do get better behavior when I stretch my arm out, hand outstretched with the palm to the dog, along with a lowered voice NO. |

| Try spraying biter apple on your socks and pant legs. I think it has to be wet to work though. It might be worth a try, even if it is a little uncomfortable. You should only have to do it a couple of times for your puppy to get the hint not to bite. |
