| Bad Scare Today I had the most horrible scare. I went to work at 9 am and around 10 am my husband called and said that Gracie couldn't be found anywhere in the house. He had gone to run some errands for his parents and my daughter who is living with us right now called him and said Gracie couldn't be found. This has been a big worry for me because she and my grandson are not used to watching where she is when they open doors. Well, I came home from work immediately, told them I felt too bad to work ,not really a lie because I thought I was going to have a heart attack when he called. By the time I got home my daughter had already found her. She was at the other end of our street. Some men working on a house said they had seen her and my daughter told them if they saw her again to grab her and hold on to her. They did and actually brought her to my daughter. I am so thankful nothing happened to her. After a little crying and kissing I gave Gracie a very stern talking to about running away. Anyway, this time it wasn't a tragedy. But everyone in this house also got a stern talking to about watching for Gracie and Abby when the doors are opened. I have read threads on here about missing babies and could only imagine how it felt, now I know. It's a horrible feeling and I hope I NEVER experience it again.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Thank God she was found. I would have had a heart attack too. That is my fear with 3 of them that someone will get out.

| Oh my gosh, isn't that the worst feeling? Frodo got out once when I was at work and I found out about it through a good samaritan who got him and read his tag. Unfortunately, I was in a meeting when she called and left the message, so by the time I got around to finding out about it, she had had to call Animal Control to come pick him up. It was awful! I'm sure Frodo had the time of his life running amok outside free from me, but I about went crazy. I'm so glad Gracie made it home safe and sound!!!!

| I am so glad that all ended well for you. I had a similar scare a few weeks ago with Howard and Chizzie when the bird got into the house. I had locked the furkids upstairs and opened the doors so the bird could fly out..... Later when I closed the doors and let the dogs back into the main part of the house Chizzie and Howard were gone. Apparently they slipped out the door leading to the upstairs bonus room and I didn't see them when I opened the front door. Chizzie came home after about 1/2 hour and was all hot and covered with hay. She was barking at the door to come in -- Howard was about 5 minutes behind her in the same condition. I assume they were both down at the barn playing with the barn kitties. So very scary..... |

| So glad you had a happy ending. I'm so paranoid about something like that happening that I won't leave my boys with hardley anyone. It cuts down on my vacation fun, but most people just don't think about leaving doors open just a second too long, or not shutting gates. It only takes a second and we've all heard the horror stories. People think I'm crazy, but my Otis is a runner, and I don't know what I'd do if I lost him.

| very glad to hear she is ok! It surely is one of my worst fears, to lose one of my babies... I panic, even when I am home about them getting out of the door

| OH Im sooooo glad to hear that shes home safe & sound! I've had my boys break out of my house a few times! I was always chasing after them, but they are WAY faster than me! Its very scarey when your baby is not safe in your house! Thank goodness!
